(Friends - As an FYI we've included the following letter from the devoted folks at El Puente Latino in Waukegan, where we take food weekly and where we recently sent $2500 from donations you've made to our Food DRIVE. For new ministry partners like El Puente Latino, we not only perform basic background checks but also gather information that allows us to better understand the work they are are doing in the community. In fact, we have been told that representatives from El Puente Latino will be joining us for worship this Sunday, in part to say "thank you"
and to say "farewell" to Zach.)

Dear Mr. Peter Wolff, June 14, 2020
The Community Church of Lake Forest & Lake Bluff
First, On behalf of El Puente Latino I want to thank your Church again for your very generous donation of $2,500, check Number 4621 dated May 6, 2020
This letter is to provide the information you requested in your letter dated June 5, 2020 to our El Puente Latino Food Pantry Coordinator Olivia Diaz. We are very glad to provide the information requested:
· El Puente Latino is a Not For Profit 501(c)(3) Organization EIN 56-2635134. Please see attached copy from The Internal Revenue Service
· The first sentence of our Mission Statement reads: El Puente Latino’s mission is to promote the holistic development of Latino families and individuals in Waukegan and surrounding communities. One of the ministries of El Puente is to …provide services that help individuals and family meet their basic human needs… The Food Pantry purpose is to meet that part of our mission.
· Your Charitable contribution will be added to the general funds we need to sustain the operation of the pantry which include food purchases, mostly from The Northern Illinois Food Pantry and local grocery stores, operational expenses such as utilities (electrical cost to properly refrigerate food), stipend for part time workers, travel expenses for volunteers to collect food from local grocery stores, liability insurance, and other miscellaneous expenses. We would not be able to distribute food without the support we gratefully receive from your and other organizations, and from generous individuals that see and understand the charitable need to help others.
May you and the people at The Community Church of Lake Forest and Lake Bluff be blessed for you ministry to feed the hungry.
Thank you very much for your very generous Support.
With kindest regards,
Roberto Hernandez, Treasurer
