This Sunday after our 9:30AM Service

"Our Changing Climate - The Case for Connecting the Dots"

Sunday morning we offer a special treat. Kate Varley, parishioner Rachel Varley's daughter, is a certified member of the Climate Reality Leadership Corps, which is part of the Climate Reality Project, the organization founded in 2006 by former VP Al Gore. There are over 20,000 climate leaders now and we're tasked with catalyzing a global solution to the climate crisis. Kate will be giving her presentation in the sanctuary after today's 9:30AM service.
What are You Giving Back for Lent?
Traditional Lenten practice can be "giving back" as well as "giving up."
Lent is a great chance to do some extra volunteering.

Christ Church Hosts Families
from Family Promise March 1-8

Christ Church is getting ready to host a new group of transitionally homeless families in Church House the week of March 1-8, and we need lots of help!

We provide these families a safe place to sleep, healthy meals, hospitality and fellowship. We play a critical role while they work with Family Promise to create a pathway to permanent self-sufficiency and stability.

New to Family Promise? Come for an orientation to the program on 2/18 at 7PM or 3/1 at 4PM in the Lea Room at Church House. RSVP to Elizabeth Parkinson below.

We need volunteers of all ages to help with:
  • Setup and Cleanup
  • Evening Meals
  • Evening Activities
  • Overnight Hosting
  • Fellowship and Hospitality
To volunteer, visit the  Christ Church website, where you'll find the  Signup Genius under Serve/Local Outreach or click  HERE .

If you have questions, please email Elizabeth Parkinson.

This Sunday, March 1 we will again be collecting for the New Trier Township Food Pantry which serves approximately 100 families from our on community each month.

This month we will be collecting the following items after both services:
  • Muffin/Cake/Brownie mixes
  • Canned Fruit
  • Pasta Sauce
  • Laundry Detergent (Smaller sizes!)
Please bring your items to the Prevost Cloister or donate cash to offset the cost of items purchased by the church each month (any surplus money is given directly to the pantry each month to purchase items as needed).

Thank you for your generosity!

Understanding & Analyzing Systemic Racism - March 26-28

What exactly is racism, and how does it operate in our society? Please consider attending this in-depth 2.5 day workshop offered in partnership with the Episcopal Diocese. The workshop is called "Understanding and Analyzing Systemic Racism", and it runs March 26-28 (Thurs. evening through Saturday afternoon), down in Hyde Park. A core group of our parishioners have attended and Christopher attended the most recent session in January. It would be great if we could gather some parishioners to attend together in March. This experience offers a history-based view of how racism is baked into the fiber of America. If you'd like to be a part of a team going from Christ Church, register on the crossroadsantiracism.org website. Follow the prompts for "workshops."

Note that attendance is required at all 3 days of the workshop. Please email Charlotte McGee at for more information. We also invite you to engage Christopher about his experience in January.
