HEESAKKER PARK WILL BE CLOSED
FOR TWO SEPERATE WEEKS FOR DEER CULLING
Heesakker Park will be closed to the public for a Deer Culling from Monday, November 30 through Sunday, December 6 and then also from Monday, December 14 through Sunday, December 20. Only approved hunters with a village permit are allowed in Heesakker Park during those dates. This year's deer culling will be within Heesakker Park only. 

For your safety and the safety of the hunters please utilize the Mill Street Bridge and Island Park to walk the western segment of the Heritage Parkway Trail that will remain open during the Deer Culling period.
HOME ALONE / SITTER COURSE
(ages 10 through 15)
*** Registration Deadline is December 15 ***
If you think your child is ready to stay home alone or has an interest in babysitting, but you want them to receive some training, then register them for this one-day course taught by a certified instructor. Course is scheduled for day that kids have off of school for winter holiday break.  Course includes 4 hours of CPR instruction and 3.50 hours of home alone / babysitter safety. 

* Home Alone / Sitter Course (age 10 to 15) will be held at Van Lieshout Rec Center on Wednesday, December 30 from 8:00am to 3:45pm. Register early, class size limited (15max/8min).  Registrations accepted online, by mail, or in person at the Park & Rec. Registration fee is $65 per Little Chute resident and $75 per nonresident. Registration deadline is December 15. After deadline, registrations only accepted at Park & Rec Dept if space available.
ADULT YOGA CLASSES MOVED TO
MONDAY NIGHTS AS OF 2021
As of 2021, our adult yoga classes at the Van Lieshout Rec Center will now be held on Monday nights (instead of Wednesday nights). If you are looking for a low impact way to work your body like never before, this is the class for you! Power Yoga focuses on strength, balance, flexibility and core work. This intense style of yoga is designed to make you move and sweat. It is a totally different way to work the body and uses muscles you didn't even know you had. This class, taught by a certified yoga instructor, is designed for all levels so no prior experience necessary.

Our January/February Session of adult yoga classes has been revised to start now on MONDAY, January 4, and end MONDAY, February 22.  Classes will be held MONDAY EVENINGS from 5:30pm to 6:30pm in the Van Lieshout Rec Center (temperature controlled room in building by ball diamond). Register early, as class size is limited to 10 participants to allow for safety modifications. You can register online or you can stop in our office to register. The fee for eight Monday evening adult yoga classes is $40 per Little Chute resident/taxpayer and $50 per nonresident. Registration deadline is December 31.  After deadline, registrations only accepted at Rec Dept if space available.

VAN LIESHOUT REC CENTER RENTALS
FOR SMALL GROUPS OF 24 OR LESS PEOPLE
If you are looking for a site to hold a small gathering, please consider having your event at the Van Lieshout Rec Center. The Rec Center is a 1,200 square foot facility that is temperature controlled which contains tables, chairs, stove, fridge, microwave, sink, and indoor restrooms. The facility's normal group limit is 99, but due to COVID-19 the village is currently only permitting 25% capacity usage, which equals 24 people or less in the room.

All reservations are taken on a first-come, first-serve basis (minimum 14 day notice required)To book a date in Dec2020 or for Jan/Feb 2021, you can either stop in the Park and Rec (2nd floor of Village Hall), or you can call us at 423-3869 during business hours (weekdays 8:00am to 4:30pm).  Payment of rental fee and security deposit is due in full at the time the reservation is made, so any phone bookings must pay with a credit card. Rentals for March 2021 through February 2022 are not permitted to be made until the first business date of the new year, which will be Monday, January 4. The village board will discuss facility rental usage and group sizes periodically, so we cannot state what the group size limit will be for rentals for spring/summer/fall/winter of 2021. Our department will give rentals at least a one month notice on changes to permitted group sizes.
2021 OPEN-AIR PARK SHELTER RENTALS
Looking to book an event at one of our outdoor open-air park shelters in 2021? Our department policy allows the public to reserve facilities on the first business day of the new year, which will be Monday, January 4. All reservations are taken on a first-come, first-serve basis. To book a date in 2021 for a park shelter, starting January 4 you can either stop in at the Park & Rec Dept (2nd floor Village Hall) or you can call us during business hours at 423-3869. Reservations for open-air park shelters can be made from May through September 2020. Please note that the rental fee and security deposit is due in full at the time the reservation is made, so if you book a date by phone you will be required to pay with a credit card. 
VILLAGE SLEDDING HILLS
Are you looking for a place to go sledding once we have some snow? We have two sledding hills located within the village - so bundle up and enjoy some winter fun! Van Lieshout Park has a very nice sized sledding hill located at corner of Florida Avenue and Vandenbroek Road, and Heesakker Park has a large sledding hill located on the south portion of the park (access sledding hill from parking lot off Sanitorium Road)*Please Note: Heesakker Park will be closed to the public 11/30-12/6 and 12/14-12/20 for a park deer culling.
HEESAKKER PARK ICE SKATING/HOCKEY RINK
The Village will have one ice rink at Heesakker Park as soon as the weather permits (usually late December). The rink will be lit up by a floodlight next to the rink and it will have a net on one end for people who wish to play hockey. Once the rink is ready, we ask everyone to be considerate of other skaters at all times since everyone will be sharing one rink for two types of activities! There is NO supervision or warming shelter at the park, so please watch your children! Remember to keep all sticks & stones off the ice, and don't walk or skate on the rink if the water isn't completely frozen.
2021 SUMMER JOB APPLICATIONS COMING SOON
Will your child be looking for a summer job? Starting on Monday, January 4, we will have our part-time summer job applications available for students interested in applying for a job as a Recreation Instructor, Pool Cashier, Lifeguard, or Parks/Forestry/Street Laborer. Starting in January, stop in to the Park & Rec Dept (2nd floor of Village Hall) to pick up an application form or check our website for the application link. Please note that our deadline for returning completed applications will be Friday, March 5.
