Use images that complement your message, and link your images to supporting Good News for our beaches, reefs and ocean, NASA along with the University of South Florida Optical Oceanography Lab are predicting LESS Sargassum for 2020. This will mean less of that smelly “sea weed” washing up on the beaches of Cozumel and the mainland between Cancun and Tulum.

COPING WITH STRESS DURING THESE DIFFICULT TIMES

It is normal to feel sad, stressed, confused, scared or angry during a crisis. Talking to people you trust can help. Get the facts. Gather information that will help you accurately determine your risk so that you can take reasonable precautions. Or plan another vacation soon to come and visit - that is sure to lift your spirits !! Seriously thought, please remember.....

Don't buy into fake news. And there is a LOT OF IT!!! Get your information from government or local sources, and double checks the facts. If something seems more sensational then anything else you've seen or heard, it probably is.

If you must stay at home, maintain a healthy lifestyle - including proper diet, sleep, exercise and social contacts with loved ones at home and by email and phone. Don’t use smoking, alcohol or other drugs to deal with your emotions. If you feel overwhelmed, talk to a health worker or counsellor. Have a plan, where to go to and how to seek help for physical and mental health needs if required.

Not able to go scuba diving? There are a lot of great movies and documentaries out there about our oceans and scuba diving. I'm not talking about those movies that depict the creatures we love and respect doing monstrous things, I'm talking about good, fun, interesting and visually stunning movies. I think we have enough fear and panic going on right now, don't watch a movie about fear and panic too.

Click on the button below to read this full article and check out our list of fun movies and documentaries to watch.
Southwest Begins Flights to Cozumel
Twice Daily Flights to Cozumel
Yes, it is true... they have been talking about it for years.... and they finally did it ! On March 7th, Southwest Airlines began twice-daily flights between Houston Hobby (HOU) and Cozumel (CZM). 2 flights a day - can you believe it? Average flight time is just a little over 2 hours. And they connect through many cities all of the US. Check out Southwest.com or your favorite travel site for bookings, fares, and deals.
NOTE: All flight schedules to the island right now are being impacted. Contact your airline for more details.
We've Been Hard at Work Around Here.
We've been working hard and making some improvements around Village Tan Kah.

After many requests, we now have a nice new railing on the pool. YEAH !!! We've also been working to upgrade the roof over the breakfast area to a solid roof. We have new and improved Wi-Fi around the facility too. A series of repeaters were installed in December to boost the signal, plus we have a new fiber optic internet connection. This make posting of all your amazing dive photos even easier.
At Scuba Shack, we took out the benches in the gear room and replaced them with a nice new table. Much more practicle for getting your gear ready in the morning. Notice the white things around bottom rails.... Bootie dryers ! Pretty neat right!!
A long time friend of Scuba Shack Cozumel has donated a stand up paddle board for all of our customers to use. You might know them - The Rojos. AKA Jeff and Sheila Koscomb. This is a great additionl here. It's super fun to paddle around out in front of the dive shop. Come give it a try!

Thanks so much Jeff and Sheila !!!!!
As divers, our passion and love of the ocean should be the initiative to help make it better. It's not only about what we do, but what we can also teach others to do - To learn and respect this wonderful rock in our solar system - earth, be it above or below the water. We just happen to really love the below the water aspect more than most..... We hope that you will continue to support all of the island and your family here in Cozumel by continuing to come and see the magic that we have here underwater.
