I hope your semester is going as smoothly as possible and that you’re navigating this pandemic safely and in good health. Below is a list of resources and events that you may find useful. If you don’t see something you need here, please reach out to my office and we will connect you with a service or opportunity that’s right for you.
Students Helping to Reunite the Beach
“Reuniting The Beach” safely is a high priority. Students have been taking active roles in planning campus repopulation. Students serve on the Repopulation Subcommittee for Student Policies and Communication, work as Health Ambassadors through the Student Health Center, and support the Technology Loan Program and computer lab in the University Student Union, just to name a few. Visiting this website, you'll find a roadmap for the safe, incremental resumption of normal operations, policy statements, procedures, information on COVID-19 vaccine rollout, and related frequently-asked-questions. Additionally, COVID-19 Resources for Students can be found here.
ASI Beach Pantry Distributing Food on Fridays
The ASI Beach Pantry serves all CSULB students in need of food items, and is currently operating as a drive-thru service every Friday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in Lot E2. The drive-thru provides access to 225 students weekly due to COVID-19 restrictions. The pantry opened in the University Student Union in 2016, distributes about 15,000 meals annually, and is available to any CSULB student. For more information on accessing the pantry’s services, please visit the ASI Beach Pantry website.
Emergency Assistance Through Basic Needs
Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, the Basic Needs Program has helped about 1,500 students in crisis. The Student Emergency Intervention and Wellness Program serves students who are displaced or at-risk, food insecure and experiencing an emergency situation or crisis. If you are facing any of these issues, fill out this application and a staff member will reach out to you. For more information and what is offered, please visit the Basic Needs Program website
One-Stop Shop for Health & Wellness
Wellness at the Beach is a one-stop shop for all your health and wellness needs. You’ll find many tools and resources to support your physical and mental well-being. To explore this information, please visit the Beach Wellness website.
