Middle States Self-Study is Underway

With the  Middle States Commission on Higher Education (MSCHE) re-accreditation visit to New York Medical College (NYMC) scheduled for spring 2021, work is underway to ensure we meet the standards set forth by Middle States. MSCHE is recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education as the entity to conduct accreditation activities for institutions of higher education in Delaware, the District of Columbia, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands. Regional accreditation through MSCHE is recognized by the U.S. Department of Education and is required for students to be eligible to receive federal financial aid. Thus, the operation of the College and all of its schools and programs are dependent on MSCHE accreditation. The re-accreditation process, every eight years, is designed to promote self-reflection and evaluation so that the College can assess how well it has been advancing its mission and goals and identify opportunities for improvement.  Read the full article on the MSCHE self-study.

January is National Blood Donor Month. On January 23, the NYMC student club, Donate Life, hosted a blood drive and collected 46 life-saving blood donations with the potential to help up to 138 patients-the most successful drive of the academic year.
