As we continue to learn more about the infectious Delta variant it’s important for us to re-evaluate our plans for the High Holy Days to help protect the health and safety of our community.
Temple Isaiah has decided to move all in-person services outside and is requiring proof of vaccination and the wearing of masks. All clergy and musicians will also wear masks unless speaking or singing at which time they will do so while physically distanced. Chairs in the outdoor seating areas will be able to be moved to allow for comfortable distancing.
This decision was made following a call with Dr. Barbara Ferrer, Director of the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health, and Los Angeles clergy and executive directors to discuss High Holy Days where she strongly recommended that we move all services outside if possible and still require masking. While some synagogues my choose to go back to fully virtual High Holy Day services, we feel we can safely hold services following the health protocols and measures we have put in place.
