May God Bless Us in the Coming Year!

The beginning of the new calendar year brings an awareness of time passing that is likely only rivaled by a birthday.  It is a moment when we are placed firmly in a moment to reflect on the year that has passed as well as turn our attention to the year that is ahead.  Looking forward comes with hopes, dreams, ambitions, and anticipations.  This year at Holy Spirit has been a wonderful year of growth in so many ways and we rejoice as a community to look back at all that God has done in our midst.

We also turn our attention to the year ahead.  On the last Sunday of this month, January 26, we will have our Annual Meeting after the 10:30 service. We will celebrate vestry members who have completed their service and celebrate those who will be called to serve as new vestry members and diocesan council delegates.  We will hear about our church's ministerial and fiscal strength and the growing health and vitality of our school.  I will be sharing news about a sabbatical coming up and we will seek to turn our hearts to God's call forward in all aspects of our shared life.

As I reflect on all that we have been blessed with in the past year, I am especially grateful for you. You are a blessing to our church and community. The growth, health, and vitality of Holy Spirit is largely because God has brought you to make this your home.  I can't wait to see what God has in store for us in 2020!  Happy New Year and God bless you!

See you in church,

Mah-Jongg

Monday Mah-Jongg
Most Mondays, 2pm -  4:30pm
Kick off - January 13th
Narthex

Whether you've always wanted to learn or are looking for a group, you are welcome to join us in the Narthex as we kickoff a new year of Holy Spirit's Monday Mah Jongg. We play most Mondays that aren't holidays. However, we don't mind if you need to miss occasionally. We only ask that you RSVP so we know how many players to expect each week.

During our first two sessions in January, Nancy Moody will teach anyone joining our group who would like to learn to play. We follow American National Mah-Jongg League rules and standards. (Due to Diocesan regulation, we will award daily points for hands instead of exchanging money).

If you are planning to join us in January, or have questions, please contact Nancy Moody at [email protected] or (713) 858-7395 or Evelyn Snow at [email protected] or (281) 755-2468
