I am having many lessons in humility. It has occurred to me that just because I think can do something that I see needs to be done or I think I should do it, doesn’t necessarily mean that I am the one God is calling to do it. I realize the necessity of constantly being conscious of God as the great communicator, not mortal mind or ego, and to be willing to yield to His will. I must remember to pray the prayer Jesus prayed, found in Luke 22:42 KJV, “not my will, but thine be done”.

As I was studying references in the Complete Concordance to the Writings of Mary Baker Eddy on harvest, I ran across Mrs. Eddy’s praise of the Editorial in the August edition of the Christian Science Journal of 1895 “A Proximate Result of Christianly Scientific Living Must…” and the following articles in that issue: “The New Pastor” by Rev. Lanson P. Norcross, “The Lamp” by Walter Church, and “The Temptation”, a poem by J.J. Rome. I highly recommend reading the “Words of Commendation” Miscellaneous Writings 313:1-23 & those articles.
