I hope you'll join me to celebrate the opening of the rebuilt El Sobrante Library and the renovated Nancy Fahden House, formerly the Friends of the El Sobrante Library building.
The library, one of 26 run by Contra Costa County, was damaged in a fire last year. The new building is modern, bright, and filled with natural light with new furniture and books.
Rebuilding the library was an opportunity to renovate the Nancy Fahden House, a community building that is home to Friends of the Library, the El Sobrante Historical Society, and the Spawners nonprofit.
Nancy Fahden was the first woman to serve on the Board of Supervisors, and her district included El Sobrante.
It's exciting to mark these beautiful upgrades to this important community hub.
