Meet Insight 115
While our school community navigates the complexities of the pandemic, those things that define and differentiate our District in the most positive ways continue including our commitment to outstanding instruction and academic growth, inclusive practices, social emotional well-being, the fine arts, extracurriculars, athletics, and giving back. Please help us find and tell those stories by emailing us with your suggestions at insight@lfschools.net. And look for our next issue in March!

On Friday, February 26, the APT Career Connections team is planning a virtual Summer Opportunity Fair for LFHS students.
In the morning, volunteer experts will help students to prepare their resumes, discuss interviewing skills, and explain more about LinkedIn profiles. In the afternoon, there are over 14 employers or nonprofit partners to talk to our students about their organization’s summer opportunities and answer questions. Students will be able to apply directly for the opportunities and follow the summer hiring process, if applicable.

Medication Authorization Form. When scheduling your child’s physical, be sure to take along a copy of the Medication Authorization Form for the physician to sign. This form must be turned in annually and is necessary if you anticipate your child will need any prescription or non-prescription medication (e.g. aspirin, Tylenol, ibuprofen) during the school day. No medication may be dispensed without this authorization on file.
-
Students with Seizures, Severe Allergies or Asthma. As a parent or guardian, you are responsible for informing the Health Office if your child has seizures, allergies or asthma. By law, we are required to have an annual Seizure/Allergy/Asthma Action Plan and a Medication Authorization Form that is signed by a physician on file with the Health Office. This will include the appropriate prescriptions your student will be allowed to take at school. Your student will be permitted to carry an Epi-Pen and inhaler with them, provided the aforementioned forms are submitted.

We are hoping to offer a limited in-person option at Knollwood as well as a fantastic virtual event that includes a gourmet to go lunch from Knollwood so that everyone interested can join us.
