Campus Update #18: 2021 Commencement Decisions to Date
To ACPHS Community,

As we endure these frigid cold temperatures, I wanted to let you know that we are looking ahead to spring and have begun discussing our 2021 Commencement. While we have many details to work out, I wanted to share with you the decisions we have made to date based on the current guidance regarding large gatherings.

Commencement Will Be May 8
We will not be postponing our commencement ceremony this year. It will be on May 8, 2021 as indicated on our academic calendar.

Ceremony In Person for Graduates / Live Streamed for Guests
We have decided to have our graduates attend our 2021 Commencement ceremony in person to preserve as much of our traditional pomp and circumstance as possible. At this time, due to the ongoing pandemic and risk of community transmission, we have decided that family, friends and guests of the graduates must watch the commencement ceremony remotely via livestream. If circumstances or guidance changes, we may be able to allow guests to attend in person.

Commencement Location To Be Determined
We are still researching possible locations to hold our commencement ceremony, including on campus, that can accommodate our class size in staging areas consistent with the number of people permitted to gather in one space at a time. The commencement location for our Vermont graduates is to be determined.

Final Decisions Will Be Announced by April 1
We will update you on our decisions related to 2021 Commencement, including the location and if we decide to allow guests in person, no later than April 1. Additionally, information regarding ordering regalia will be sent soon.

Thank you for your patience as we gather the information needed to honor our graduates in the most traditional way we can while continuing to protect our College community.
