Board of Directors Leadership Update

As a non-profit organization, our Chamber is strategically led and guided by our Board of Directors, made up of valued member volunteers that shape our priorities and focus. The Board recently voted for our new slate of Executive Officers who will lead the Chamber organization this coming year.

Our new Board Chair is Lori Cote of Cote Funeral Home. We're thrilled that Lori will bring her passion, energy and creativity to this position, and look forward to her leadership of the Director team in 2021. The 2021 Executive Team also includes:

Peter Scontras, Secretary, Way Way Store
Bridget Conley, Treasurer, Hampton Inn by Hilton Saco-OOB
Kelly Fowler, Unitil
Marshall Archer, City of Saco

These annual leadership transitions are exciting though bittersweet, since they also mark the end of the tenure of our most recent leaders. The Chamber wishes to thank Scott Gillespie of Saco Sport & Fitness for his visionary thinking and tireless positive leadership as our Board Chair these past two years. His inclusive style and thoughtful input has helped shepherd us through this particularly challenging time. Also, we'd like to thank Scot Arthur of Avalon Advisory Group for his many years of board leadership and invaluable fiscal and tax preparation expertise and contributions as our Board Treasurer.

Thank you to all of our members who volunteer to help in advancing the ongoing success and growth of our great communities!

Mary's Walk on March 21st

This year's event takes place virtually on Sunday, March 21st. Organizers hope you will join in once again, recognizing that cancer has not stopped in the midst of the pandemic and the people of Maine need help more than ever. Poker Crawl Event in Biddeford: February 26th-28th

Nick Blunier of Common Roots Studio has spearheaded a fun promotion coming up next weekend from February 26th-28th: the Biddeford Business Poker Crawl, designed to encourage residents to visit and make purchases from multiple local stores that weekend. When customers spend $10 or more at one of the participating businesses, they get to pull a card from a deck. Customers try to collect as many cards as they can by shopping local at participating businesses (who will display a playing card in their window to signify they are part of the promotion). The best poker hands (5 cards) turned in by Sunday night will win gift baskets filled with local gift certificates and goods! This sounds like fun to play some local Poker next weekend and support local businesses in the process! For more information, check out the PROMOTIONAL FLYER
