ORLANDO GUTIERREZ, THE PASSING OF A SHPE GIANT
Many people have passed through SHPE in its almost 50-year history. Some are transitory, few years and they are gone, some stay for the long run, some become lifetime members, and some make an impact and leave a legacy for years to come. This is a short story of one of them.

Guinness World Record holder Viridiana Álvarez will deliver the keynote speech at the Closing Ceremony on October 30. It's not too late to register for the National Convention and hear about how her experiences in mountaineering relate to transformational leadership.

Congratulations to Thibaut Pardo-García, the winner of our raffle to win a refund on your convention registration fees. Thibaut is in the Neuroscience Graduate Program at the University of Michigan. If you're at convention, reach out to him on the platform and connect.
MAKE YOURSELF HEARD IN THE 2020 ELECTION
SHPE members are leaders and leaders vote! Here's a website with everything you need to know on a state-by-state basis about mail-in and early in-person voting, including the first day you can cast your ballot in the 2020 election.
HELP A MEMBER AFFECTED BY COVID MAKE IT TO THE CONVENTION
With the impact of COVID-19, the members who need the National Convention the most are the ones who cannot afford it. Will you make a donation to the fund today to support these members in need? A gift of $200 sponsors one student member, but no amount is too small to make a difference.
