PRESIDENTS’ DAY HOLIDAY
We hope you are already enjoying your long weekend! Please be reminded that CSArts-SGV will be closed this coming Monday, February 15, in addition to today, in observance of Presidents' Day.
PHOTOS NEEDED FOR VIRTUAL SEASON FINALE
As part of our Virtual Season Finale, our creative team would like to incorporate a montage of photos from this past year that celebrate our incredible CSArts-SGV families! Your resiliency, positivity, and encouragement have enabled our students to learn and grow despite the current challenges we all face.

We invite you to share uplifting photos of your family having fun, studying, relaxing, cooking, creating art, and making the most of this time at home. Also, feel free to include signs or banners in your photos that illustrate your love for our school and our students. Wearing CSArts-SGV swag is always encouraged as well!

Please upload your photos through this Google Form no later than Friday, February 26. Thank you in advance for your participation!
STATE TESTING UPDATE FOR GRADES 11 & 12
Last week, a required notification was sent out to all families who have a student eligible for state testing this school year. We have received questions about why our school is participating in state testing during a pandemic. Since CSArts-SGV is a public school, we are mandated by the State of California to test students in grades 11 and 12. The California Department of Education (CDE) has confirmed that, as of now, testing will take place this spring. The CDE is in the process of seeking a waiver from the federal government to suspend testing, but that waiver has not yet been granted. Unless the CDE receives a waiver, we will move forward with the planned state testing. We expect to receive more information regarding this waiver from the CDE in the next couple of weeks and will keep all junior and senior families updated.

In case you missed our previous communication about state testing for grades 11 and 12, you can find links to the email below:

FREE WEBINAR FOR PARENTS
Please be advised that next Wednesday, February 17 at 5 p.m., Revolution Prep will be hosting a complimentary webinar for all parents/guardians titled “How Executive Functioning Skills Improve Grades & Lower Stress.” This presentation will provide strategies to reduce stress and improve your child’s time management, prioritization, and organizational skills. You can learn more and register for the webinar here.
LAST CHANCE TO BE A VIRTUAL SEASON FINALE HOST
Attention students: Today is the last day to submit your audition to be a student host in this year’s fully virtual Season Finale! Students from all grade levels and all conservatories are welcome to participate in the audition process. Since there are not as many chances to audition for additional projects this semester, we are encouraging students to take advantage of this unique opportunity.

To audition:

  1. Review and memorize this script.
  2. Record your audition video. Please consider filming yourself horizontally, with a clean background. Additionally, if you would like to dress the part, you are welcome to wear formal attire.
  3. Fill out this form by 11:59 p.m. TODAY, Friday, February 12. This is where you will upload or link your video.

All submissions will be reviewed and selected students will be notified by Friday, February 19. Thank you in advance for your interest. If you have any questions, please email Bridget McNally at bridget.mcnally@sgv.csarts.net.
