Meal Volunteers Needed for HOPE
HOPE (Homeless Outreach Providing Encouragement) needs volunteers from Heart of Longmont to provide meals for the homeless the fourth Wednesday of every month. Two volunteers are needed each month. One volunteer will make a main dish for ten people, the other will make a side dish for ten people. There is a sign-up sheet in the Gallery at the Hospitality Desk.

Some possibilities for main dishes include: casseroles, lasagna, spaghetti, macaroni and cheese, burritos, hot dogs, hot sandwiches. Some possibilities for side dishes are green salad, potato salad, macaroni salad, fruit salad.

A foil pan and lid will be provided to you for the main dish and side dish. They will be given to you the week before the dishes are to be delivered.

Your dish should be ready by 4:45 PM the fourth Wednesday of the month you have chosen and will be picked up at your house by Marge Clydesdale.

Thank you for helping with this important outreach project. We are making a day a little bright for those in need! God bless you!
Tricia Grafelman shared some great photos from the HOPE Christmas Dinner.
Happy New Year!

You may be familiar with Pastor David's weekly videos, but do you know what goes on behind the scenes...? Check out the video below for a peek behind the curtain!

Happy New Year, everyone!
A Heartfelt Thank You
Kelly Corne, a single mother of 2 girls in Carmen's Girl Scout troop was diagnosed with breast cancer in the fall. She had a double mastectomy in October and Carmen wanted to share prayer shawls with Kelly, Kira, and Aliya. She chose them all with great care. Please read Kelly's response:

"I cannot tell you how touched I was when Carmen handed me the blankets today. It literally brought tears to my eyes. When she told me about the prayers that had been said it was even more meaningful. That blanket is such a gift and I will treasure it always. It felt a bit fitting as well because I have been praying so hard that chemo wouldn’t be necessary and I found out today that I won’t need it.

I truly don’t have the words to thank you for your kindness.

Thank you so much, to you, Carmen, and all who worked on the blankets."

Thank you, Catherine Murphy, for sharing this with us!
These are the girls from Girl Scout Troop 70274 who meet here at Heart of Longmont every Wednesday!

As an ongoing project, the girls of Troop 70274 have been collecting pop-tabs for the Denver Ronald McDonald House .

There will be a collection jar in the West Airlock for you to leave your pop-tabs to help their efforts!
Student Care Packages

Each year our United Methodist Women like to remember students in our church family who are pursuing post high school training and undergraduate degrees with a care package. These packages are sent out in late February. If you would like your student to receive a package, please submit their name and spring address to Becky Vancura no later than January 6th. Text 720-771-7746 or Email becky.vancura@gmail.com
Blessing Bags

Blessing Bags were assembled following the Feeding Our Souls dinner. There are boxes next to the main entrance and the West airlock containing these bags – please take one or two and keep them in your car. When you see someone asking for help, offer one of these bags instead of money.

We will continue to put Blessing Bags together after Feeding Our Souls (3rd Wednesday of the month). Your donations of any of these items is greatly appreciated!
Find the Blessing Bags box in the Gallery:
  • Socks
  • Water bottles
  • Protein snacks
  • Chap stick
  • Tooth brush and paste
  • Hand wipes
  • Granola bars
What's Going On Up There???
You may have heard that our roof needs some repairs. We will be starting a capital campaign after the first of the year to address the roof repairs, but you can give before the end of the year towards the roof so you can get the best tax breaks for 2019.

Want to understand why we need these repairs? Watch the video below and see for yourself!
