UU Singles Dancing Tonight,  Friday, February 14
Tonight from 9 pm to ?, some of the UU singles will be dancing to the Soul Street band (rock, funk) at the Golf Club at Eagle Pointe, 2250 East Pointe Road. Tickets are $5, payable at the door. We do have a table reserved. Please contact Marie Deer at 812 391 0900 with any questions, up until about 7 pm tonight.  P.s. Singles, remember that we will not be having a game night tonight. It has been moved to next Friday, the 21st.
Letter Writing Campaign to Support
Workplace Accommodation for 
Pregnant and Breastfeeding Women
Saturday, February 15, 12-3 pm
The Reproductive Justice Task Force is supporting a state bill for workplace accommodation of pregnant and breastfeeding women, tax free-status for diapers and sanitary products, and other issues affecting women and families. Come join us to write cards, letters, and make calls on Saturday, February 15, from 12-3 in the Sanctuary. Have a cuppa, a snack, and let's gather our power together!

Side with Love Multigenerational Service

Come explore our commitment to Side with Love as a denomination and a congregation. This service will include storytelling, time for personal reflection, and singing, including "Lift Every Voice and Sing," the history and meaning of which we have been learning about.

Singers of all ages are encouraged to join the UU Family Choir this Sunday as they lead us in this important song--just arrive at 8:50 or 10:50 to rehearse it with Susan Swaney. Our usual beloved UU Choir will also sing a song by local composer Cindy Kallet.
This Week in Religious Education - Presence
Caring Connections (Childcare, Room 108) will share stories and songs and make friends. Preschool and older children and teens are invited to stay with us for our multigenerational service this morning.

This Sunday-- The Getting Involved Fair begins
The Getting Involved Fair will be held over the next three Sundays, February 16, 23, and March 1, to share information about all the groups, task forces, and activities of the church. Join us for the fair during Coffee Hour in the Fellowship Hall. A different set of groups will be represented each Sunday. This Sunday, to kick off the fair, representatives of all the groups will parade into service holding signs with their group's name. -- Ann LeDuc, Connections Coordinator
Family Snack Potluck this Sunday, 10:30 am
All families with young children are invited to join us between services this Sunday (10:30 -11:15 am) in the church library for a snack potluck. Come meet other UU families and enjoy a snack. Bring a snack to share if you can, or just bring yourself. There will be Legos and coloring supplies available for kids. Side With Love Fundraiser Lunch

Join us for a special Fundraiser Lunch, created with love by the hands of children, youth and adult volunteers in our Religious Education Program. Proceeds will benefit local and national organizations that are supporting racial justice, LGBTQ equity, and immigration justice.If you are able to, please purchase your tickets during coffee hour in the Commons (you'll be able to get food sooner), but all are welcome to come!  $8 per child, $10 per adult.  Details and menu here.

The UU Freethinkers group will meet this Sunday at 12:45 pm in Room 208 for an open discussion of social, political, and theological/religious issues.
Heading for Extinction and  What to Do about It

Our world is plunging toward the destruction of the planetary ecosystem that supports human life.  Join us for a presentation on the science behind the 10 years we have left to seriously address climate change; and what we need to do to get the action that will save our world for our children.  Join our young people.  Stand up for action on Climate Change.
UU Social Justice Film Series
The Dhamma Brothers
This Sunday at 5 pm, in Fellowship Hall
Presented by our Hope for Prisoners Task Force and Open Mind Zen Bloomington
Join us for a free screening of  The Dhamma Brothers ,  which tells a dramatic tale of human potential and transformation through the practice of Vipassana meditation in an Alabama maximum security prison.  Discussion to follow, with free pizza.  No childcare available.  
Office Closed Monday, February 17
Because Monday, February 17 is a federal holiday, the church offices will be closed and staff will not be in the building. Regular meetings may take place anyway; please be in touch with the leader of your group to confirm. Regular office hours will resume on Tuesday, February 18, 10 am - 4 pm.
Traffic Pattern Changes on the Bypass Beginning February 17 and Continuing Through May, Due to Hospital Construction
Beginning Monday, February 17, the 45/46 Bypass northbound by the new hospital will be single lane for a month (through March 17). Then it will flip to a single lane south bound for a month (through April 17). Then it will be a single land north and south for a month (through May 17). This is to change the curbing/lanes and install a traffic light at the intersection of the new hospital entrance.
Drop-in Childcare on Wednesdays, 6-8 pm
        On Wednesday evenings, from 6-8 pm in Room 108, our caring childcare staff are here to offer free drop-in childcare (as space allows). Parents must remain on site, on the building grounds or in the building. Please use the Courtyard Entrance. We hope to provide a moment for parents to breathe deeply, have a cup of tea with a friend, or sit in silence before running children to their next event. When possible, the Meeting Room is available for quiet meditation.  For more information about childcare, please contact our Childcare Coordinator, Hannah Worton, at [email protected] .
Buy Grocery Cards on Sunday and Support the Church
     We have grocery gift cards for Bloomingfoods and Fresh Thyme for sale in the Commons every Sunday between services - pick one up before your Sunday afternoon grocery shopping! (We buy them in bulk at a small discount, and sell the cards as a fundraiser to support our operating budget.)
     Y ou can also click here to register your Kroger Plus card to request that 5% of your food purchase amounts be donated to the UU Church through their Community Rewards program - o ur organization ID number is EW763. During the last quarter (September thru December 2019) we received $424.87 from Kroger, with 135 UU households participating.
