Notice from St. Catherine of Siena Parish
Some of our churches will present a series of forums during these coming three months on "Criminal Justice Reform". Our commitment to parents, students and educators in the Red Clay and Vocational School districts includes a concern about the number of absent parents, especially fathers. A sizable percentage are in prison, often for lengths of time beyond what is beneficial to society and themselves.

All of us realize that the family is the most important factor in a child's success at school. The Church and the family are where a child's character is formed. We invite you and your congregation to attend these forums, to learn what citizens need to know to support positive reforms in laws that will restore parents, especially fathers, to their family role in their children's lives.

Lent Madness
Lent Madness began in 2010 as the brainchild of the Rev.  Tim Schenck . In seeking a fun, engaging way for people to learn about the men and women comprising the Church’s Calendar of Saints, Tim came up with this unique Lenten devotion. Combining his love of sports with his passion for the lives of the saints, Lent Madness was born on his blog “ Clergy Family Confidential ” which has subsequently moved locations and become “ Clergy Confidential .”
The format is straightforward: 32 saints are placed into a tournament-like single elimination bracket. Each pairing remains open for a set period of time and people vote for their favorite saint. 16 saints make it to the Round of the Saintly Sixteen; eight advance to the Round of the Elate Eight; four make it to the Faithful Four; two to the Championship; and the winner is awarded the coveted Golden Halo. The first round consists of basic biographical information about each of the 32 saints. Things get a bit more interesting in the subsequent rounds as we offer quotes and quirks, explore legends, and even move into the area of saintly kitsch. If you’re not sure about terminology,  check out our glossary . It’s free!

So, each day, you sign on to the Lent Madness sight and vote for your favorite saint of that day's particular paring. Whoever wins that day's election, moves to the next round, untill there are only 2 candidates left. There will be many saints that you know, and as many that you don't... but there are always good biographical backgrounds provided for each candidate.

If you want to know more about Lent Madness, either Google search it, or simply go to Lentmadness.org.

Annual Visitation of the Bishop!
The annual visitation of Bishop Brown is Sunday, March 22, 2020. At that time, he will be the celebrant and preacher! Also, at that time he will Confirm, Receive, or bless Reaffirmations of faith. Simply put, Confirmation is for anyone not previously confirmed by a bishop, Reception is for anyone was confirmed in another Christian denomination who wishes to join the Episcopal Church, and Reaffirmation is for those who wish to reaffirm their baptismal vows before their community of faith. If you are interested in any of these possibilities please speak with Fr. Kim right away.
