What does it mean to rest? Why do we struggle so badly with it? Busyness is a sickness of the soul shaped by ongoing resume-building, constant digital communication and unceasing activity.
So says Dr. Nate Stucky, a professor at Princeton Theological Seminary. Nate will show us how to see rest as a faithful practice within a busy world. This talk might be particularly helpful for parents, youth and young adults. Click here for more.

Memorial service for Tom Wilson

A memorial service will celebrate the life of Tom Wilson, who died peacefully this past Friday.
Tom was a decorated World War II veteran who loved camping in the mountains and listening to folk music. Messages posted on the worship chat will be compiled and shared with the family. You can access the livestream here.

Covenant's active adults group hosts virtual Christmas festivities followed by a tour of holiday traditions at Biltmore House. We'll conclude with carols led by our own Heather Potter. The first 30 people to register will receive Christmas treat bags. Register with Michelle Williamson by Friday.

How Room in the Inn is pivoting
Volunteers needed to provide bagged lunches

While churches are not hosting guests this year, Covenant’s partners at Roof Above (formerly Men's Shelter of Charlotte) will add shelter beds to meet increased demand in colder weather. Volunteers are needed to prepare bagged lunches.
If you or your group (i.e. Bible study, small group, Women’s Circle, etc.) would like to coordinate lunches together one week, contact Lynn Morrow.

Our partners at Roof Above are asking for donations of cookies to serve guests at the winter overflow shelter. Cookies may be provided in sandwich bags or wrapped in Saran wrap.

Help children select gifts for their parents
Urban Promise's Joy of Giving initiative

We can make it possible for children to find gifts for their parents and guardians at Christmas. This program is led by Urban Promise, a mission partner that works in Charlotte's historically under-served communities.
It's an exciting day for children to experience the joy of giving by selecting small gifts. Street Leaders teach the students about God's boundless generosity and then help students package their gifts. Learn more and sign up here.
