Seeking potential farmer participants for climate-smart
ag project
Researchers in the College of Agricultural Sciences at Penn State University are looking for Pennsylvania farmers from historically-underserved groups (e.g., women, smallholders, people of color, Latinx) to participate in a research project focused on introducing farmers to carbon credit markets. Participating farmers will work with researchers to implement a climate-smart practice on their farm (e.g., no-till, cover cropping, feed and livestock management) and market the carbon credits generated from adopting the practice. Participating farmers should be willing to commit to the practice in at least one field for approximately 5 years and will be financially compensated for their participation, in addition to the carbon credits sold. Projects may start as soon as summer 2022 or as late as summer of 2023.

If you are potentially interested in participating, or if you would like more information, please contact Daniela Carrijo at daniela.carrijo@psu.edu or 814-863-2535.
