Yorba Linda's New Library & Cultural Arts Center Opens

The City of Yorba Linda has opened its $51 million library and cultural arts center. Pictured above is the 3,200 square foot, 250-seat black box Virginia De Land Theatre housed within the complex, and named for the late founder of the Yorba Linda Civic Light Opera. Segerstrom Center for the Arts' Argyros Plaza Re-opens

"The venue has remained shuttered for the duration of the pandemic, but its staff remained vigilant in following any and all updates on city, county and state reopening guidelines or the protocol for gatherings. Now, Segerstrom Center for the Arts' President Casey Reitz said, the center is ready to bring back live events within its spacious, outdoor Julianne and George Argyros Plaza." JOY HARJO APPOINTED TO RARE 3RD TERM AS POET LAUREATE OF THE U.S.

Joy Harjo, the first Native American poet to serve as U.S. poet laureate, has been reappointed to a rare third term by the Library of Congress. Harjo was presented to Orange County audiences last year in its 11th Annual Creative Edge Lecture. Harjo is the second poet laureate to serve this many terms in a row since the current duties of the position were established 77 years ago. (Robert Pinsky was the first.)
