Senegal District Trip

Spring Break 2022 was extra special for the group of 8 students, teachers, and friends of WAWM who traveled to the warmth of Senegal, West Africa for 10 days!

Senegal's bright, colorful life proved to be a treat for all! Sleeping in tents in the desert, riding camels, visiting a special non-governmental organization village for boys off of the streets, going to Gorée Island to the Slave House, where all slaves across Western Africa passed through on their way to the Americas, bargaining in market places, and more, provided life long memories and new friendships for all participants!

Thank you to Madame E (Jeanne Engelkemeir), French/Global Cultures Teacher at Central High School and West Milwaukee Intermediate, for sharing these photos and experiences with our WAWM community!
