BC Chamber Supports Regional Health Measures in Central Okanagan to Contain COVID-19 Outbreak
The BC Chamber of Commerce supports the announcement made by Interior Health and believes the measures will help curb the ongoing spread of COVID-19, rebuild consumer confidence and keep businesses open. While businesses work tirelessly to keep their employees, customers and patrons safe, we each have a role to play. We urge everyone to get fully vaccinated as soon as possible, and to be kind and patient with one another as we each navigate Step 3 of BC’s Restart Plan at our own pace. LEARN MORE

B.C. to mark September 30 as day of commemoration
In June, the federal government announced September 30 as a new annual statutory day to commemorate the history and ongoing trauma caused by residential schools and to honour those who were lost and the survivors, families and communities who continue to grieve. LEARN MORE

Project Applications for UBC Bachelor of Management Capstone Program
The Faculty is seeking businesses and organizations interested in identifying a strategic or operational challenge, and willing to engage a small group of students in research and analysis to develop key recommendations for this challenge.  Deadline is August 15, 2021 to apply. LEARN MORE

The Jobs and Growth Fund (JGF) is now open for applications
The Jobs and Growth Fund (JGF) provides funding to businesses and organizations to help create jobs, and position Canada’s economy for an inclusive recovery and long-term growth. The JGF will provide $700 million nationally over three years to position the regional economies for long-term growth by transitioning to a green economy, fostering an inclusive recovery, enhancing competitiveness, and creating jobs across Canada. Applications will be accepted through a continuous intake process. All projects must be completed prior to March 31, 2024. LEARN MORE

The Government of Canada continues to be committed to advancing gender equality and women's economic empowerment and to supporting women entrepreneurs through the Women Entrepreneurship Strategy (WES). BMO Celebrating Women Grant Program
BMO, in collaboration with Deloitte, will award 10 women-owned businesses with a $10,000 grant, and an additional eight will receive a $2,500 grant for their business. LEARN MORE

WorkBC Community and Employer Partnerships
COVID-19 has changed how we work, and we are all doing our part to support economic recovery. Funding is available to increase employment opportunities for unemployed British Columbians and address local labour market issues. Community and Employer Partnerships (CEP) is prioritizing applications and funding projects that create work experience and training opportunities to prepare job seekers for available jobs and support an inclusive economic recovery in B.C. communities.
