Winter watering is something we can’t stress enough here in Colorado. Over 80% of Colorado residents are experiencing abnormally dry to exceptional drought. Young trees, shrubs, lawns, and evergreens are at the greatest risk during a winter drought. Snow is great for providing moisture to your outdoor plants and trees, however, snow alone will not be enough.
We recommend supplemental watering to ensure your plants last through the season. Colorado State University recommends monitoring weather conditions and water during long dry periods deprived of snow fall – one to two times per month. Watering must be done when temperatures are above 40 degrees F.
