Last call to opt-out of the member Directory - Tomorrow, March 9th

At its February meeting, Council voted to approve an 'opt-out' policy for the member Directory. This functions much like our Social Media Policy. Essentially, we will plan to list the contact information we have for each adult member in Grace's Directory, unless we hear otherwise. So, if you do not want your contact information in the Directory, let us know! Please contact the church office by the end of the day tomorrow, March 9th.

We will be printing hard copies of the updated member Directory beginning March 10th. Going forward, the Directory will only be available in hard copy. These will be available in the Fellowship Hall the next 2 Sundays, and then from the office by request.

New Adult Sunday School Option - Conversation Class!

We now have a fourth option for adults during the Sunday School hour! Youth & Family has kicked off a 'conversation class' for those who would like to spend time together talking about the day's gospel reading, current events, and whatever else is on your mind and impacting your faith.

This class is based on weekly conversation materials, so if you miss a Sunday, you can jump right back in without missing a beat. Each Sunday is a fresh conversation with those who able to be there.

You do not have to be currently raising kids to be part of this class, though this is a great place to connect with other kid-raisers if you are.

Join us Sunday mornings at 10am in Room 108!
Seniors@Grace
Come join us on March 17 for Seniors@Grace. Our very own Walker Stockley our “grill master” is bringing BBQ to feed us and then entertain us with the ins and outs of the world of BBQ. We will also have some Irish music and a contest for the best dressed “Irish for a day” outfit. Wear lots of green! We gather at 11:30am, lunch at 12:00pm.
Lunch will be $6.00. Please let Annie Laurie Wheat know by the 15th if you can make it. Call her home 803-980-1834, cell phone 803-517-0626, or email wheatannielaurie@gmail.com
Easter Baskets of Blessings
Grace Lutheran is collecting baskets for the annual Easter Baskets of Blessings that will be given to the York County Council on Aging members. These baskets should be filled with some of the following items; healthy snacks (applesauce, crackers, sugar free candy, granola bars etc) and toiletry/personal need products (lotions, shampoo, deodorant, wipes, toothpaste etc.) Feel free to add in extras as you see fit. You will need to place all the items in a basket or useful container (storage container, laundry basket etc), wrap them carefully to secure all products (clear cellophane works great), and attach a tag to the top of the basket with the person's name, gender, and route number clearly written.Click HERE to sign up. All baskets should be brought to the church Fellowship Hall NO LATER than Sunday, April 3. Thank you in advance for your contributions!
Young Youth & Youth at HOPE

On February 20th,15 of our Young Youth & Youth and 9 adults went over to HOPE to volunteer. They had an amazing time! One of our Young Youth said, "I feel like I'm a person who works at HOPE" and after we told him that he IS that person, we heard him say several times "I'm a person who works at HOPE!"

When we talked about our experience the next week at Youth, one said, "It felt really great to know that the things we were putting together that day would be going out to people who need them the next day."

Check out some photos from our time volunteering: We bagged sugar packets, divided up paper products, organized frozen goods and dairy products, stocked shelves, divvied up drinks, and more, so that things would be ready to distribute the next day.

The kids also had the opportunity to present HOPE with a $5,000 check, which Grace designated in our 2022 Missional Spending Plan!
A note from Outreach Liaison to HOPE Ron Hartman:

Thank you for the opportunity to speak on February 20th about the dynamic partnership Grace’s Outreach Partnership Grant program developed with HOPE of Rock Hill, our neighbors at the corner of Oakland and Aiken. Since then, we have increased our number of volunteers from 12 to 14, and most importantly last week the Lord inspired 14 of our youth of all age groups to visit HOPE, learn about what they do in the community and lend a helping hand!

While most of my talk centered on food needs, Hope also focuses on utility assistance and serves many impoverished people in our area on the verge of having their gas and electricity turned off. As most of you are aware, natural gas and electricity prices have skyrocketed, and with the most recent events in the Ukraine will rise even higher, and many in our community will be in dire need of assistance. What is Grace’s role here? Fortunately, our Counsel agreed to budget $5,000 to HOPE for this purpose (along with food needs) which will allow us to serve the Lord and impact our community greatly. Think about it for a minute what it would be like to have no gas or electricity? Not good!

Thank you for your support and time in assisting this vital organization. Here at Grace, we are recognized as the Lord’s servants to those in need.

In Christ,
Ron Hartman
