LINKS Friends, Earl L Morgan was born June 2, 1923, and died May 27, 2020, just short of his 97th birthday.  Earl and Norma Morgan have been our LINKS missionaries for the past 2 years.   Earl & Norma retired, from missions in Israel, almost 30 years ago.  They have been living near Olivet Nazarene University, since their twin daughters, JoAnn, (now married to Kevin) and Janelle, (now married to Jay) graduated.  They also have an older daughter Brenda and her husband Frank who now live in Pennsylvania.  The Morgans have 6 grandchildren who are all serving the Lord.  We are very grateful for all the years Earl and Norma served as missionaries  Please keep Norma and all the family in your prayers.

If you would like to honor Earl and help Norma you can send money to Nazarene World Mission through your church treasurer or you could send a personal cash gift and/or sympathy card straight to Norma at....  494 Meadows Rd. So.

Calling our generation to a dynamic life in Christ

In Evangelism, we are called to BE God's light in the dark and ignored places of our world. We are to BE a faithful example of God's unconditional love. In BEING in Christ and BEING with others, we allow the Holy Spirit to work through our lives and we trust God with the results.

Through Discipleship, we journey together with other believers as we follow in the footsteps of Jesus. As we DO life together, we learn what it means to talk together, serve together, sacrifice together, fall and get back up together. We DO the hard work of becoming more like our Savior, living surrendered lives in community.

In Leadership Development, we challenge and empower youth and their leaders to GO out into their communities as models of Christ's servant leadership. We cannot afford to wait until we think we know enough; we must GO now, learning along the way.

NYI - Young Adult Ministry
Y oung Adult Allies, NYI sees all of you and has heard you and we want to do everything we can to keep you connected. Not just connected to us, but more importantly to God. In order to do that we need your help. If you are a recent high school graduate, 18-23 years old, or you know someone in your church that fits into that age group, please send your information to us.

We want to help you get connected to a group that will help you and challenge you to continue growing in your faith whether you are attending school far from your NWIL district family or you are working within a NWIL community.

We, your NWIL family, love you and want you to know you matter and you are needed to accomplish the goal God has set before us. So if you are a college aged student or a church leader/pastor would you please give Ronda Hollars a call or send an email with young adults (18-23)name(s) and contact information so that we can begin connecting them with resources to help them continue maturing in their faith with a body of believers surrounding them.

District SDMI Director
" Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age."   Matthew 28:19-20

As you are going,
THINK BIG: Every relationship, every interaction, all inclusive.

And make disciples,
START SMALL: You. Be one. Be a Christ-like disciple. Re-present Jesus.

Baptizing them, immersing them in Jesus,
GO DEEP: Pray. Empty yourself. Sacrifice.

REGIONAL QUIZ RESULTS
The Regional Quiz was held June 5-7, 2020 and was done on a Google Doc from home. Karla Tobey, our Regional Director sent this information.

It took a perfect score at each level to get an individual trophy and we had two who accomplished that on the Red Level:
Congratulations to Trinity Britton from Havana and Gavin Roy from Galesburg!

Our quizzers on the Red Level would have all received a gold medal!
Those who participated are:
Trinity Britton - Havana
Gavin Roy - Galesburg
Ava Fry - Havana
Dezmen Shooltz - Havana
Jared James from Pekin

On the Red Level no one missed more than two questions! That is amazing!
On the Blue Level no one missed more than six questions. That is normally a gold medal.
The quizzers who participated at the blue level are:
Zoe Cannon - Havana
Naomi James - Pekin
Addie McClure - Pekin
Angel Painter - Havana

I am proud of all of our quizzers! Way to go!  Thanks to all of you coaches and parents who did a phenomenal job of teaching your children.

For generations, Nazarenes have supported the World Evangelism Fund. Working together, we accomplish so much as the Body of Christ. Become a part of missions work and partner with the Church of the Nazarene to make Christlike disciples in the nations. Senica Family - Crossbridge
We are the Senica Family!
Sam, Kristi, Tyler, Madilyn, Owen, and Edith!

We are preparing to serve as the Expansion Projects Assistantsat the Center for Missionary Formation on the Nazarene Seminary Campus in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic.

We grew up attending Crossbridge Community Church of the Nazarene in North Central Illinois, where we met in youth group and were married in November of 2006. Sam has a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, and Kristi is currently studying for her Bachelor's degree in Religion - Global Studies.

Both of us feel a call to serve in missions and have served through various Work & Witness trips both domestically and internationally.  Together we have taken teams to Antigua and the Dominican Republic. These experiences and the influence of the people who have been a part of these trips with us, have affirmed our desire to serve and our call to take the next step of becoming full time sponsored missionaries.

In 2018, our pastor asked us to oversee a new partnership between our church and missionaries in the Dominican Republic. We were excited at the thought of being able to continue to serve in missions through this role. At that time, we did not foresee what God was up to, but as the partnership progressed, God raised up an increasing desire within us, and we realized that He was calling us into missions full time. We had never considered becoming full time missionaries, but we were open to taking steps to learn more about it, even if it meant some tough, life-altering decisions.

God's faithfulness is evident in this new season of our lives, and we are excited to share this journey with others!

As we continue to follow God's call on our lives, we are so grateful and encouraged to know that we are serving with the support and prayers of our church family. Thank you for joining us in this mission as we serve in the Dominican Republic!

May God Bless You!

Churches across our district are starting to open. May God continue to bless our district family during these times. Churches will met online and in person.
Bridgeway
May 31st Bridgeway held their first outdoor church service. It was an exciting day for all and a joy for them to worship together. "What an incredible day. Church today was special in so many ways. WOW. I was so hungry to be around people in a worship experience. How perfect that we were celebrating Pentecost!"  Rev. Michael Downs "Spread the Love, Joy, Peace, Patience, Goodness, Kindness, Gentleness, Faithfulness. Sing to the Lord for He is GOOD. The Spirit in You is the Son shinning through!" Crossbridge

In person worship services will begin June 20 & June 21. More information coming soon. Please follow their facebook or website for updates.   "We want to be there for you and help you to continue to  worship." Rev. Sherry Stevenson
Galesburg
Words can not express how excited we are to reopen the church this week, June 14. With limited space available due to social distancing guidelines (102 total individuals in the sanctuary, and an additional 40 overflow seats are available with the service streamed in to Nazkids Central, due to CDC guidelines at 25% capacity).
Full details can be found on their facebook page: Galesburg Nazarene

Havana
Havana held services in their fellowship hall for their first time back together. They were able to worship together and enjoy each other while social distancing. They opened the service with just the perfect song. "I love the thrill that I feel when I get together with God's wonderful people. What a site just to see all the happy faces praising God in heavenly places." Havana facebook
Lewistown
Lewistown church family joined together in an outdoor worship service on June 7th "I've worked in clinical counseling for nearly twenty years and during that time I have treated (and continue to treat) my share of patients with anxiety. It seems for many people worry and anxiety are unfortunately a traveling companion. Paul tells us to be grateful and pray. I have suffered with anxiety most of my life but I will not let it debilitate me. Perhaps this little distinction will help: "Feat sees a real threat, anxiety imagines one." There is both clinical and spiritual help for anxiety, the spiritual help comes by faith, prayer, and gratitude." Rev. Howard Love.

Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. Philippians 4:6

"The PFN Church Board, staff, and task force are announcing that we will host our first services back on SUNDAY, JUNE 28, 2020! How exciting is that?! Lots more details to come that I will share with you to respond to all your questions. No doubt, God is helping us, guiding us and giving us His wisdom. Praise the Lord!" - Pastor Brock

Smithfield
On Christ the Solid Rock I Stand was sung as Smithfield joined together in worship on Sunday.

Rev. Dean Potts delivered a powerful message. "What message do I want to put out there for all to see? Who am I? Who am I? Discover who you are. Look very carefully in the mirror. Ask yourself hard questions about what you are doing. What you are thinking. What you are feeling. I believe in the creator of the universe." "Be at peace, love one another, love those that persecute you, love those that hate you, do good to those that do evil to you."

Church Multiplication Endowment Fund
Give a GIFT that doesn't stop Giving!

Would you give $1.00 a month if it never stopped giving, never wore out, never changed its usefulness or purpose and transformed lives?

How many times do we give a gift to someone only to see it discarded at a later date or discover it was never used as intended? Have you ever wanted to give a gift that would never grow old or wear out, that would always be used for good and made a difference for eternity? NOW you can!

Jesus said "But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moths and vermin do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal."

Would you partner with your Northwestern Illinois District's vision to plant churches?  You might wonder how you can make a difference or even be a part. Everyone can. We need some to plant, we need everyone to pray and we need many to invest.

The Church Multiplication Endowment Fund is designed to reach unreached people living on the NWIL District for Christ. Every dollar given will continue to give in perpetuity. An endowment fund uses the interest from the principle to do kingdom work.  Will you help fund this goal?

Currently, our district property funds have been invested in planting 22 new churches these past three years and the district is in need of capital to continue to plant more! We need your help. Presently, there are 36 more potential church plants in various stages of planning which will require additional funding support.

Help us reach our GOAL of planting 300 churches by 2030.  We see 300 churches as 3,000 disciplemakers who disciple 15,000 disciples gathering with 30,000 worshippers.  Every dollar you give will continue to reach people for Christ your whole lifetime and beyond.

Would you consider a GIFT of $1.00 a month?  We are not trying to take money from your local ministry where you give your tithes and offerings. We are asking for many to give a little.  Our initial goal is 5,000 giving at least $1.00 a month. Would you be one of those 5,000 making a commitment to create a movement to plant churches that change lives?  Here are ways to give:

 1. You can give to your local church by marking your check or cash gift "NWIL CM Endowment" and your church treasurer will take it from there.

 2. You can also choose to give online if you want to set up one time or reoccurring payments using debit/credit/Electronic Check on the district website at nwilnaz.org/GIVE/ On District Church Planting or direct  CM Endowment Giving LINK. Or scan this QR code at the bottom of this article.

3. You can send a check or cash to NWIL District, 3520 Broadway St., Pekin, IL 61554 (please indicate CM Endowment on check memo)

We are also looking for those who might like to make greater kingdom investments!

You can give cash, stocks, bonds, real estate, livestock, grain, or other personal property.  Basically, any asset of marketable value can be used to help fund this endowment. There are also charitable gift annuity options that allow you to specify the endowment fund or another ministry of your choice while allowing you to receive income for your lifetime and when you pass, your gift goes to the endowment fund or specified ministry. CLICK HERE to see other ways to model generosity. Gifts can be given in memory or in honor of someone.

Large or small: Why not leave a lasting legacy that lasts more than your lifetime.
