Update on SBA's Paycheck Protection Program (PPP)
The Paycheck Protection Program is providing small businesses with the resources they need to maintain their payroll, hire back employees who may have been laid off, and cover applicable overhead.

This past week Congress passed and the President signed into law a bill that revises SBA’s Paycheck Protection Program (PPP), one of the Federal Government’s main COVID relief programs for small businesses and nonprofits. The improvements contained in the “ PPP Flexibility Act ” makes the program more flexible than before.

Some provisions in this bill:
  • Easier to qualify for loan forgiveness
  • Covered period extended to 24 weeks
  • Payroll costs percentage lowered
  • Repayment period lengthened to 5 years

Virtual Town Hall on Paycheck Protection Program Flexibility Act
with Congresswoman Jackie Speier & SBA Tomorrow!
Tomorrow, on Wednesday, June 10th at 4 pm , Congresswoman Jackie Speier will host a  Virtual Town Hall   with Julie Clowes, the District Director of SBA's San Francisco District Office, to help you maneuver through the Paycheck Protection Progam (PPP) process.

"I heard your complaints about PPP loud and clear and the good news is that Congress fixed many of the obstacles you were running into. This week, the Senate passed the  Paycheck Protection Program Flexibility Act , which was introduced and overwhelmingly passed in the House. It's designed to keep more small businesses afloat for longer periods during the pandemic.

Please join us to learn more about the details of these PPP fixes and the application process. And please share this invitation with your business friends who have not yet applied for these loans, which can be transformed into grants under the loan forgiveness."
