JBA CIT Application Deadline are EXTENDED
Applications to be a coordinator-in-training (CIT) for the spring 2021 semester have been EXTENDED TO: Wednesday, December 11th 11:59 PM EST!!!

We will be hiring a coordinator-in-training (CIT) to start working with us at the beginning of the spring 2021 semester. During the training semester, a coordinator will learn the ins and outs of Waltham Group and all the behind-the-scenes work that goes into planning and executing JBA throughout the semester. CITs typically become full coordinators at the end of one semester and then remain Waltham Group coordinators for the rest of their time at Brandeis.

The time commitment is 3-4 hours per week during the weeks leading up to and after the program and 8-10 hours per week during the 5 or 6 week program. We know this sounds like a lot, but it's a great opportunity to be a part of the Waltham Group, develop practical leadership skills, network with some amazing people, make friends, increase your hours for Commitment to Service, and much, much more! CITs typically train for one semester before becoming Waltham Group Coordinators for the rest of their time at Brandeis.

You can access the application here!

Submit to the Brandeis I Am Global Lookbook

During the 2020 - 2021 academic year, the Brandeis campus has truly become, in all senses of the word, global. With our students spread out across the globe, we wanted to provide everyone with a place to share and celebrate their daily experiences with the Brandeis community. It is in this spirit that the “I Am Global Lookbook” was born.

You, as a Brandeis community member, are invited to share an artifact that is representative of your global experience this year. We will compile these artifacts (photos, poems, songs, video clips, recipe submissions, etc.) into a digital lookbook or "zine" to bepublished on the Brandeis website in 2021.
Relieve Stress this Finals Period with Stressbusters!
On this page, you will find a collection of videos, websites, podcasts, playlists, and resources to help you relieve stress. We hope you will find what you need here to support you throughout final exams and to the end of 2020.

This collection of Stressbuster content was curated by the Wellness Programmers, a group of staff and students representing multiple departments and organizations on campus committed to improving the well-being of the Brandeis community.
Making Meaning: A Discussion on Spirituality and Mental Health

January 2021/multiple - begins January 5, 2021

Come learn with others on Zoom how spirituality and mental health impact each other. Choose a 4-week discussion series or join one-time drop-in sessions. All discussions are facilitated by Brandeis University’s Center for Spiritual Life and BCC, and are open to any Brandeis student. Groups limited to 10 participants. People of all spiritual/humanist/religious/worldview traditions are welcomed. Register here.
Connections through Conversation: The Brandeis community is here for you!
The first step to getting connected is to reach out!   Ongoing Campus Connection Points has tips for conversation starters and links to campus resources for ongoing, drop-in or scheduled times for students to have casual or structured connections through conversations.
Arts grants for BIPOC creators
Marginalized students often lack access to resources such as studio space, mentorship, subsidized private music lessons, exhibition opportunities, printing technology, and so forth. In June 2020, the Division of Creative Arts publicly stated its support of BIPOC students’ opportunities to engage with and learn from the arts.

Arts Engagement BIPOC microgrants support Brandeis undergraduates whose creative work amplifies the voices of BIPOC people. The grants may be used for resources such as equipment, materials, studio time, lessons, workshops and so forth for creative arts disciplines such as (but not limited to) music, photography, curating, filmmaking, design, poetry, spoken word, etc.

Although your creative work does not need to be exhibited, published or performed, we can help you do that. The grants of up to $250 may be used for resources such as equipment, materials, studio time, lessons, workshops and so forth for creative arts disciplines such as (but not limited to) music, photography, curating, filmmaking, design, poetry, spoken word, etc.

For more information, visit Arts Engagement's website.

Harvard is seeking an undergraduate student research assistant to provide support for a research project concerning the well-being of frontline workers in the context of COVID-19. This longitudinal qualitative study explores the impact of the current health care crisis on low-wage workers and their workplaces in three different industries – health care, warehouse, and retail – where we have already collected pre-crisis baseline interview data on worker well-being.
Opportunity to participate in research study
Greetings, my name is Victoria L. Martin and I am a doctoral student at Fayetteville State University within the Department of Educational Leadership and School Administration. I am conducting a research study entitled, “Tales from the Slump: Perceived Barriers to Sophomore Student Success. (IRB #2020-P-0030)” This study will explore perceived barriers to sophomore student success as viewed through the lived experiences of students who are currently in their third year . Your insight into your experience as a second-year student at your current institution will provide valuable knowledge to the body of research on the second-year experience.

If you are interested in participating, you will be asked to complete a 30 minute survey with the opportunity to participate in an optional 45 minute virtual, focus group. If you would be interested in participating in this research study, please use this link.

If you have questions, please contact me or you may also contact my Dissertation Chair, Dr. Noran L. Moffett, Professor, Department of Educational Leadership at Fayetteville State University.
