Annual Appeal SURPRISE!

We continue to work toward our $35,000 goal to be able to provide the events, enrichments, scholarships and more here at Kingsley, but we aren't there yet!

So we have a fun incentive to help boost participation: if we receive seven donations in the next seven days, there will be a SURPRISE performer at the Kingsley Student Talent Show on January 30th & 31st!

You can donate via cash or check by filling out this form and dropping it with your donation into the PTA mailbox, send your donation via Quickpay or Zelle to KingsleyPTAtreasury@gmail.com, or give at invest-in-kingsley-2019.cheddarup.com. All donations are tax deductible.
Traffic Around Kingsley & Haven

A committee is forming to address concerns around traffic safety at Kingsley & Haven. If you would like to get involved, please email Sarah Neikrug at SarahNeikrug@gmail.com

The City is also planning a major improvement project to Green Bay Road and is seeking public comments. You can share your concerns and feedback here (scroll down to find the comments submission).

Also, a reminder that Prairie Ave. is ONE WAY facing NORTH during morning drop off and afternoon pick up.
Talent Show: Adult Volunteers Needed!

The Kingsley Talent Show is next week on Thursday, Jan 30th, and Friday, Jan 31st at 6:30 PM in the Kingsley Auditorium. In order to make the shows happen, we need your help! Please sign up here

This is a great volunteer opportunity for families who do not have kids in the show, to free up the families whose kids are in the show to be in the audience. If you do volunteer and have a child in the show, we will make sure you do not miss their performance.

Please note, this is not a drop-off event. Children should be supervised in the audience so they are not disruptive during the performances.
Kindergarten Open House

If you have an incoming Kingsley kindergartener please join us AND spread the word about our Kindergarten Open House event on Wednesday, January 22nd from 7:00 PM - 8:30 PM.

Parents and guardians of incoming kindergarteners are invited to take a guided tour of the school, chat with the amazing kindergarten teaching team, and hear a brief presentation from Principal David Davis. In addition, we'll have information sheets about future kindergarten play dates and events coming up in the next few months.

Be sure to tell your friends and neighbors with incoming kindergartners!

ESCCA - Volunteers Needed

We are in need of volunteers for our next ESCCA serve date on February 4th from 6:30 PM - 9:00 PM. Please note, the January 22nd serve date has been canceled.

The serves occur at the JEH Administration Building (1500 McDaniel) and involve helping other D65 children and their families pick out cold weather clothing so that they don't miss any school due to inadequate clothing. It's a fun and meaningful way to get involved, and each D65 school is responsible for staffing 3-4 serve dates per year. We need 5-6 volunteers to make the serve successful, so please sign up to help if you can. If you can't make it the whole time, we can try and work around your schedule.

Green Team Items

Bring in your plastic bags for recycling!
Remember to bring in your clean, dry plastic film-grocery bags, bread bags, case overwrap, dry cleaning bags, newspaper sleeves, ziplock bags and produce bags. Trex will recycle them into decking and other outdoor products. The school that recycles the most plastic wins a composite bench for the playground. Donation bins are located at the end of the gym hallway (near the teacher's lounge). All plastic must be clean, dry and free of food residue. Questions? Email pamlagger@gmail.com.

Lunch Sorting Help
The Kingsley Green Team invites any parents and caregivers to come have lunch with students to help with sorting at the waste station and help out lunch staff. Lunch periods are 11:20 AM - 1:20 PM. We would appreciate your help any time during the lunch periods whether it's 30 minutes or 2 hours. Please remember to sign in at the front office before coming to the gym.

Did you know foil or glitter-decorated gift wrap and cards cannot be recycled? Reduce waste by reusing gift bags, tissue paper and wrapping paper. Click here to read about ideas for wrapping alternatives.
