Our Humble Little Christmas Tree
Our Christmas was peaceful and quiet this year. Since we are remodeling the house a normal size Christmas tree was out of the question. We bought this miniature live tree and decorated it with lights and a few ornaments. It was actually quite nice and I love the fact that it is still alive - at least for now. I really hope I can keep it that way. Haven't had great success in the past.
Our Trip to Texas
Went to Austin to pick up a truck that we bought from Allan's nephew, then went on to Houston to visit his mom, who is 92. She is doing okay, but the best part of her life is in the past. Each meal she gets a bowl of ice cream for dessert, and while she never eats her whole meal, she ALWAYS finishes the ice cream.

We only had the truck for about 3 hours and were nearly to Houston when we were rear ended on the freeway, pushing us into the car in front. No one was seriously hurt, but Allan did mess up his shoulder and is seeing a doctor here at home. Took a few days to get the truck driveable again, but we are glad to be away from all that freeway traffic!
Christmas Stollen

Decided to make a Christmas stollen this year. Except for the fact the pastry lifted while it was baking, it turned out very well. I filled it with cream cheese and cherries that we picked this summer. Yummmmm!
New Calf
Some Christmas surprises come in red packages. We had another cow give birth in late December, and the calf is healthy and spry (she looks black in this picture but she is actually red). She was targeted for slaughter because she wasn't pregnant early on, but bulls will be bulls, and obviously one got to her.

In Closing . . .
What a nice year this has been. So many good projects accomplished on the ranch, good health for our family, and good times with family and friends. We are truly "dripping with abundance," and we pray that you are as well. As we move into 2020 we wish you all the best, and thank you again for allowing us to be a part of your quest for healthy living. God bless you and your family.
