It is now easier than ever to vote absentee in Novi. Recent law changes allow anyone to vote absentee without a reason.

Those who wish to be placed on the Permanent Absent Voter List must be registered to vote and can complete the application found here or call 248.347.0456 to be placed on the list.

Once you are on the list the City Clerk's Office will automatically mail you an application for an absentee ballot prior to each election. State Law requires the application be completed and returned prior to a ballot being issued.

We are finally done with winter and green grass is right around the corner. You can start cleaning up your yards and putting your yard waste out for pickup on Monday, April 1.

Yard waste includes plant material such as leaves, grass clippings, small twigs, prunings, shrub clippings, garden materials, old potting soil, pumpkins, dirt incidental to minor plantings or edging of lawns, small shrubs with dirt ball removed, branches, brush, flowers, roots, wood waste, and other material commonly thrown away in the course of maintaining yards and gardens. This includes sod and other biodegradable matter. This does not include soil, any garbage, food, plastic, synthetic fibers, lumber, human, or animal waste.

All bundles of yard waste are not to exceed 4 feet in length, must be bundled using string, cannot exceed 18 inches around and cannot weigh more than 60 pounds.

Place yard waste into a paper yard waste bag or reusable container no larger than 35 gallons. Yard waste placed in plastic bags will be left uncollected by Waste Management.

Free, self-adhesive yard waste stickers can be obtained from the Novi Civic Center.

The State of the City will take place at Suburban Collection Showplace, starting at 7:30am. Tickets are $25 each or $225 for a table of 10 and includes breakfast.
