Valsesia Creeking Gem in Imminent Danger
Save the Sorba
One of the last free flowing rivers of the Alps is under threat of a micro hydropower project, with the only apparent economic benefit for those whom will construct the plant.

This absurd project is being carried out by the municipality of Rassa, in Valsesia, Italy who at the spectacular confluence between the Sorba and Gronda Rivers, a place of unique beauty and spectacular kayaking, intends to erect a power station offering a meagre 226 kW.

The Sorba & Gronda Rivers are some of the fantastic rivers of Valsesia, where we host our spring Piemonte creeking programmes and the Valsesia River Festival.
