Seattle's program manager of commercial
recycling and composting .
Get Your Fix in Now!
Do you have something that needs fixing, or are you an adept fixer? Then plan on coming to the inaugural Bainbridge Fix-it Fair on April 19 at the Bainbridge Island Senior Community Center.

All repairs are first come, first served. Fixers will be available beginning at 2:00 pm till 4:30, after which new repair requests
will not be accepted.

Register your broken item here or email Gilian Engelson so that organizers can plan accordingly (although walk-ins are also welcome). Your information will not be used for anything other than communicating about the Fix-It Fair.

If you are interested in being a fixer or volunteer at the fair, please email lead organizer Gilian Engelson at
BainbridgeLoT@gmail.com or call project coordinator Caitlin Newman at 360-337-4678. Fixers bring their own tools and the organizers provide common consumable supplies.

For more information, visit the BI Fix-it Fair web page.
Barter Away
Bainbridge Island is having a Barter Fair! Buy less, trade more, and build a more sustainable and collaborative community. Find the perfect trade for your homemade kimchi, hair cutting services or spring garden starts at the Barter Fair on March 14

Bainbridge Barter Network, on Facebook, has ideas on how you can join the fun. Find a list of barter possibilities and contribute your own ideas. RSVP there for the Barter Fair and join your neighbors in reclaiming our local economy.

Everything Old Is New Again
If you haven't noticed, Bainbridge Disposal has revised their recycling " cheat sheet" to reinclude milk cartons and dairy tubs.
In addition, stick to recycling the basics:
  • bottles, jugs, jars
  • cans
  • paper and cardboard

And if you haven't played the BI Recycling Quiz yet, give it go!
