This class is perfect for those new to watercolor, and those wanting to explore the different ways to use watercolors and not be stressed out with trying to achieve perfectionism! I’ve put off teaching this class for a long time because I don’t feel I’ve mastered watercolors (I’m not sure anyone has…) – but I can tell you that I am loving what I’m learning and would love to share that with you!

So, invite a friend and come explore watercolors in this weekly online class that will take place every Tuesday from 6:30pm-8:30pm. We will explore different techniques, basic color theory, pen & ink, and whatever else we come up with!  No previous experience necessary!

To make this a successful class, here is your "To Do" List:
1. Download the ZOOM app on your device.
2. Find a quiet area for your creative space.
3. Gather the following recommended supplies for your creative space:
  • Apron, 1”Flat Brush, #8 Round Brush, a smaller Round Brush
  • 2 water containers
  • Quality Watercolor paint (see notes below)
  • a small paint palette with mulitple wells for mixing paint
  • Dr Phil Martins Bleed Proof White or White gouche paint
  • Pebeo Drawing Gum or Masking Fluid
  • Paper Towels, Kleenex (or toilet paper) Watercolor paper (Canson cold press)
  • An old kitchen towel
  • Painters Tape
  • Spray bottle with water
  • Sturdy surface to tape paper down on (I have a thin piece of hardwood, but I’ve used cardboard, and foamboard)
  • A plastic table cloth to cover your work area (Dollar Store)
  • Fine Sharpie pen
NOTES:  I have both the watercolor in tubes, and some Jane Davenport Pans. You’ll want a good quality paint, but that doesn’t mean you have to break the bank! Spokane Art Supply has a filled palette with 14 M. Graham colors and 1 or 2 round paint brushes for under $40. (they took the tubes of paint and made these pallets, so good quality paint was affordable to students). This is a great deal and will last you a long time! If you don’t live in the Spokane area, you can still order this filled palette by calling them at 509-327-6628 or email at info@spokaneartsupply.com. Otherwise, you can get some affordable watercolors at Hobby Lobby, Michaels, or Amazon.

Please reach out to me with any questions! robynsmithartadventures@gmail.com, or 509-990-8011.

Cancellation Policy: 7 days notice prior to class is required for refund (less $5) or transfer to another class.
Register Now! You will be able to choose which Tuesday you'd like to attend - or select all of them!  I just ask that the deadlines be paid attention to!  Thank you!
