Global leadership in improving human performance & effectiveness in healthcare
Emergency Medicine residents led by Drs. Amy Cutright, Ross Mathiasen, Ab Campos and Michelle Kompare practiced neonatal emergency simulations, including airway management.
February Highlights
Patient Safety Focus
This month, first-year students led by Dr. Jordan Warchol from the College of Medicine engaged in a patient safety simulation where they were challenged to spot and identify potential medical and safety issues in a simulated examination room. Afterwards, the students debriefed with faculty members about the importance of eliminating medical errors to ensure patient safety.
Interprofessional Clinical Simulation
Students from the College of Nursing and College of Allied Health Professions Physical Therapy program led by faculty Nicole Sleddens, Sandra Sasse, Beth Culross, Cathy Binstock and Kathy Volkman collaborated in real-world scenarios to practice transfer of care.
Advanced Professional Training
Department of Orthopaedic Surgery residents practiced their skills during surgical workshops throughout the month, led by Dr. Justin Siebler. Labs included operations related to the shoulder, elbow, hand, hip, foot, ankle, knee, spine and more!
