Nonprofit Party at the Museum On November 7 we celebrated with over 160 nonprofit professionals at the first annual Nonprofit Party. The Nonprofit Leadership Excellence Award was presented to David Janssen, Executive Director of Brucemore, Inc. The Minnie Rubek Staff Excellence Award was presented to Tim Feldmann, Workforce Specialist at Tanager Place. Each recipient’s organization also received a $1,000 grant for staff development.

Community Learning Series: Gateways for Growth On October 30, our second Community Learning Series event focused on emerging efforts to make Linn County a more welcoming place for new Americans. Representatives from the City of Cedar Rapids, New American Economy, and Iowa State University Extension and Outreach provided research and information on Gateways for Growth—a grant made to the city and matched by the Community Foundation for these efforts.
