Dear NWPL Patrons,
Ahh, August. Majestic dignity and grandeur, by definition. The month itself can only aspire to such stately heights. Still, I will take each and every day of August as it arrives. Today, we got a wealth of sunshine instead of the rain that was expected.
This just in: as of Monday, August 24, visitors to the library will be required to wear a mask. We will have some on hand in case you don't have a mask with you. Time to stock up again. I wonder if we humans are getting any better at coping with change. There sure is a lot of it. But don't despair. We've got some terrific programs coming up and we fully expect to see you at them. So, calendars at the ready? Read on.
August
Reserve a spot at the library to hear Ann McEntee's talk on "Aging Gardens, Aging Gardeners" on August 31. No matter your age, this event is not to be missed. Advance reservations are needed (programs@normanwilliams.org). Woodstock Garden Club members can reserve through the WGC.
Several inspiring new author videos from earlier this year are up on our website and we've included links to a couple of them in this newsletter. See Melanie Finn in conversation with Makenna Goodman in a remarkable exchange about writing, women, Vermont, and much more. See our website for more of our new videos, including Virtual Bookstock 2020-21.
We're also accepting book donations. In fact, we really need them. That's good news for all you Marie Kondo cleaner-upppers. And thanks in advance for the book donations.
And what is a Yarnstream? Read on! Cheers!
