Combining Experience Architecture with Community and Economic Development

XA Presentations

On April 28th, students focused on experience architecture (XA - a cutting edge, new major at the MSU College of Arts & Letters) and community and presented their projects through the afternoon at the MSU Library in the Digital Scholarship Flex Space lab. Their efforts can be developed and piloted to create sustained opportunity for understanding of community perspectives, crafting a vision for the future of the Eastside neighborhood in Lansing, Lansing area Makers, and allow for genuine participation from the community. Projects like “Date Your Neighborhood” and “Build With Passion” were presented by capstone students supporting area community organizations with Dr. John Monberg’s class emphasizing cultural rhetoric, digital rhetoric and public deliberation. Dr. Monberg also sits on the Faculty Board of Advisers at the Center for Community & Economic Development and is graduate faculty in the Department of Writing, Rhetoric and American Cultures. To learn more about XA, click the image above or button below.
