It's hard to believe December is here already! This is a busy month at school and in our homes.  From all of us here at First Methodist School, we pray you have a joyous, peaceful holiday season as we celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ!

1 year olds learned about triangles
2 year olds worked together & used their imaginations to build with legos
3 year olds made a fall corn craft
4 year olds learned about voting
Kindergarten learned about the different types of clouds and made cloud models
4 year olds practiced their rhythm skills with Mr. Felipe in music
Fun Shop
Fun Shop is a chance for parents/grandparents to come together for a few hours at the school to help our teachers by die cutting, making copies, laminating, and other activities, saving our teachers much needed time. The next Fun Shop is scheduled for 12/11 from 9a-noon. You may come and go as your schedule allows during this time. We'll meet upstairs in the resource room of Wesley Hall.

Christmas Program 12/18/19, 9:30a
Led by our music teacher, Mr. Felipe, our students (2 year olds classes through kindergarten) have been busily preparing for this year's Christmas program!

All students (2 yr old classes-K), including Tue-Thur students , should be dropped off in their classroom by 9:15 am to participate in the program. Tue-Thur students must be picked up from their classroom after the program is over. Please see the note to the left regarding student attire for the program.
 
Everyone is welcome to join us in the FUMCD Main Sanctuary for a festive, fun time celebrating the birth of Jesus Christ. We look forward to seeing you there!!!
Duncanville Outreach Ministry
Food Drive
Benefitting Duncanville Outreach & FUMCD Open Table Ministries

We are collecting donations through 9:00 am Tuesday, December 17.  DOM serves over 500 needy families a month and has identified canned vegetables (corn, green beans, carrots, etc.), chili, soup, tuna, hamburger helper, macaroni and cheese, pasta & sauce, rice, and beans as items of greatest need.  Open Table serves free meals to members of our community each Saturday evening. Open Table is in need of peanut butter, tuna, and canned soups with meat.
 
Please drop donations in Friendship Hall (outside Kindergarten and Ms.Verette's room) under the Christmas Tree. Thank you for partnering with us to help those in need.

Winter Weather
Winter is on the way! Please let your child's teacher know the preferred way to reach you about weather-related school openings/closings (home number, cell number, text, email, etc.). In the event of a closing or delay, an email will be sent to those signed up to receive this newsletter, a message will be sent through Brightwheel, our Facebook page will be updated, and notice placed on our website. You may also tune to WFAA-TV channel 8 for information regarding our school.

Please clearly label all student belongings sent to school with your child's name (coats, hats, gloves, backpacks, lunch boxes, cups, etc.) Thank you!

Cost: $5 each for everyone 3 years and over (Parents must pay as well) NO tickets will be sold at the door. Tickets may be purchased at the school office through December 6.
We will provide each child with one photo with Santa. Parents can take their own photos of the family but time with Santa will be limited.
