2021 FEA Annual Conference
1031: A Century of Growth
IT’S 1921.

Harding goes on to sign a joint Congressional resolution declaring an end to America’s state of war with Germany, Austria and Hungary. The De Young Museum opens in Golden Gate Park, San Francisco and Chicago opens The Chicago Theatre – the oldest surviving grand movie palace.

IT’S 1989.
George H. W. Bush is sworn in as the 41st President of the United States. Space Shuttle Discovery flies Mission STS-29, and Nintendo’s Game Boy is released in North America. Harris Trust and Savings Bank of Chicago settles a government enforcement action, agreeing to pay $14 million in back pay to minorities and women. The Federation of Exchange Accommodators (FEA) was officially formed and quickly became the voice for the 1031 exchange industry.
It’s 2021.
Joe Biden is sworn in as the 46th President of the United States. Bernie Sanders’s mittens worn to the inauguration raise $1.8 million for Vermont charities. The world begins to re-open after the 2020 pandemic shutdowns. Chicago, Illinois fully re-opens, and The Palmer House Hilton celebrates its 150th anniversary.

FEA opposes the Administration’s proposal to limit IRC Section 1031 like-kind exchange continuing its long history of preserving 1031 like-kind exchanges. You can become educated on the issues by attending the 2021 FEA Annual Conference and visiting 1031buildsamerica.org for more information on the FEA’s activities and how you can contribute to the efforts.

Health & Safety

The health and safety of our attendees are FEA’s top priority. You can expect that FEA and The Palmer House will follow the CDC’s most up-to-date health and safety protocols.
In turn, FEA asks that each attendee takes personal responsibility to do your part and minimize the potential of the spread of communicable diseases at the Event.
  • Stay home if you develop a fever or have had exposure to any contagious illness, including COVID-19, within two weeks of traveling for the Event.
  • Abide by and engage in health and safety measures as defined by the Center for Disease Control (CDC).
  • Review this helpful document from the CDC designed to assist in making decisions about attending gatherings.
FEA is taking the following measures to ensure your safety:
  1. Registrants are required to agree to an attestation statement about their health when they register.
  2. Attendees will be required to sign off on the health attestation statement each day of the conference.
  3. FEA will follow the CDC and local guidelines related to COVID-19, whatever those may be at the time.
  4. FEA will have seating available for those who prefer to keep their distance.
  5. FEA will have reminder postings on-site about health and safety protocols.
