This should be done locally. It is not the same in our rural areas as it is in the larger cities. One size does NOT fit all.
That should be decided locally.
Absolutely not. What about small private schools? What about the communities not affected? What about the parents who need to work? The 2 months in the spring was pure hell for our family having 3 in school, a toddler, and working full-time as an essential worker. The communities in the rural areas really need to continue to go to school, the community depends on their parents keeping their jobs. The inner city kids are most at risk as their parents aren't at home holding them accountable, so the basic math and reading will fall further behind. The communities should be allowed to make their own decisions, that is why we elected our school board and local politicians. This is all about $$$ and the unions.
for the people,by the people!
If you do, I want my portion of the property taxes that goes towards schools. Our public schools and not trained and ready to do virtual school. I want a voucher to send my kids to a virtual school set up for that. Kids need to get back to school.
Schools need to open, at least part time.
I wish that my child could stay home from college and do her work remotely. Many children are cared for by their grandparents and opening up school again will put all of them at risk.
There is absolutely no scientific reason to ... and if we do, fulough all teachers until the classrooms open ... contract with existing private online schools for service.
I think local school boards are capable of making these decisions
I think schools should have a plan to provide education safely... it's hard to determine exactly how that can happen. If school buildings are closed 100%, the upcoming semester will be a nightmare for working families.
How much damage does this do to our children who are lowest risk of contracting this virus. secound why does the govenor think that he has the right to take our right to "peaceably assemble" for educational purposes? We have the right to take the risk just as much as others have the right to shelter in place to avoid the risk.
kids need to get back to school - there are enough practices to use to keep safe while there. kids need the structure & socialization just as much as the education
I believe this decision should be left up to the individual school boards.
It should be up to each school district but our Governor wants to control our lives
The Teachers are suppose to be the Smart ones, let them figure it out. And the Smart ones will stay open for the love of their job.
without a vaccine, we would all be screwed.
Paying tax dollars for schools which are not open. HMMMM
Wisconsin is becoming North Korea
If young kids can’t go to school, a working family has to send them to daycare. What is his plan to help working parents make an income, meet work requirements/expectations, teach children and pay for additional childcare that was not budgeted.
Local school boards should have control
If he closes the schools I want my tax money back!
Schools need to be locally controlled.
Cave in
King Tony is an evil tyrant.
What do you exspect, he's in bed with fancy Nancy and Chuck the duck, all crooks.
Unreal!!!
He has an agenda to try to destroy the private and parochial schools. He is a willing captive of the teachers unions. That's the way it is when you elect an educrat governor
Its going to hurt the some kids who don't have parents that work with them. They need the socializing , wearing mask, distancing themselves, will be good for them . Parents can't teach them the things they need to learn from a teacher.
Keep the state out of a local school district decision
It should be the local school board and the County Health that the schools reside in. The schools have been surveying the parents to see what they would like. Not all kids learn virtually and some need to see their friends in person.
It should be a local decision
No matter what, it's the kids who will suffer...there definitely needs to be a comprehensive plan to get these kids an education that will help them going forward.
We do not need to continue to keep our children home - they have already shown in other countries that they do not have surges or outbreaks when schools opened. That would be government overreach at its finest!
