Davis Students Attend Lake Winnie
Students at Davis Elementary that met their ST Math goal were treated to a Lake Winnepesaukah trip last week. The students were accountable for their learning and met their goals!
DES Hosts Book Fair & Art Show
The first annual DES book fair/art show was a huge success! DES would like to thank Ms. Jeanna Knox and Ms. Brandi Gann for the collaboration!
DCHS Drama Presents The Addams Family
The DCHS Drama production of The Addams Family School Edition opened last Friday. There are two additional showtimes remaining which will take place on Saturday, May 21st at 2:30PM and 7:00PM. Ticket prices are $7.00 for adults, $5.00 for students, and children 4 and under are free. All proceeds will benefit the DCHS Theatre Program so that they can continue with their annual productions.
Davis & Dade Elementary Celebrate Field Day
Both Davis and Dade Elementary Schools celebrated with their annual field-day events last week. We would like to thank the staff, PTOs, and other volunteers that helped with the field-day events!
DCS Students Eligible For FREE Digital Library Card
In partnership with the Dade County Public Library and the Cherokee Regional Library System (CRLS), Dade County Schools is offering the opportunity for all students to receive a free digital library card. The PINES Library Card Access for Youth (PLAY) program gives students free access to fines-free public library materials and online resources to help them succeed in school. Cherokee Regional Library System (CRLS) has partnered with local schools in Walker and Dade counties to provide the PLAY program. Beginning May 24th, the program will be available for Dade County School students. Each student’s lunch ID will be shared with the Cherokee Regional Library System unless you opt-out during the opt-out period between May 2 and May 16. DCHS Track Athletes Bring Home Hardware
Several DCHS Students participated in the GHSA State Track Meet last week. Senior Stella Henry was the AA State Champion in the girl's triple jump with a leap of 37’ 10 1/2” and Henry placed 2nd in the girl's long jump. Junior Ian Byrd brought home a 3rd place medal with a 12' Pole Vault jump and Raegan Page placed 4th shattering her personal record with a 9' Pole Vault jump. Junior Brody Cooper competed in several events and placed sixth in the 110 Hurdles setting a new personal record at 15.86.
Dade & Davis Elementary Pre-K Registration
Dade and Davis Elementary Schools are now accepting registration applications for Pre-K. Also, if your student did not attend Pre-K this year, now is the time to begin the registration process for Kindergarten. If you would like more information, please contact the front office at either one of the schools. The Dade County Board of Education will hold its regularly scheduled monthly on May 23, 2022, at 5:00PM. The meeting will be held at the Dade County Board of Education building located at 52 Tradition Lane Trenton, GA. 30752.
