We truly appreciate United States Cold Storage-Western Region's efforts in raising an incredible $103,874.90 for Valley Children's through the company's "Connect for a Cause" campaign.
The launch of their inaugural employee giving campaign was held in 2020 as six locations raised funds in their own unique ways, from hosting fun barbecues to raffling off great prizes. U.S. Cold Storage matched employee contributions dollar-for-dollar, bringing the amount to the total listed above.
"We are incredibly grateful for the efforts of U.S. Cold Storage's entire team to support Valley Children’s mission, and especially the leadership of Mr. Rod Noll and Mr. Chris Halsted to make this possible," says Robert Saroyan, President of Valley Children's Healthcare Foundation. "Their generosity and commitment provide an extraordinary example to us all of what is possible when passionate people decide to make a difference for others."

Valley Children's and the patients and families of the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) offer a big thank you to the Valley Pulls for a Cause Committee. Hosted in Gustine, this second annual event went “full throttle” when it comes to making a difference, raising $75,000 to ensure that the NICU remains state-of-the-art with the very best equipment, not only for our tiniest patients, but their families, too.
The 2nd annual Valley Pulls for a Cause offered a fun-filled family atmosphere as they hosted a tractor pull. A huge thanks to the Committee members and their families who made everything possible, as well as generous event sponsors, vendors, auction donors, participants and attendees. We hope to see you at the third annual Valley Pulls for a Cause next year!

Please join us in thanking the Festa de Agricultores (Farmers’ Party), an event held in the North Valley to support Valley Children's, for their generous donation of $23,470. The money raised will be divided evenly to support three significant needs at Valley Children's, including the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) that cares for our tiniest patients, the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) that treats the most critically ill and injured, and the Oncology Clinic.
Proceeds from this annual celebration honoring Santo Antao, who is the patron saint of animals, are usually given to students who are seeking a degree in agriculture. This year, one of the organization’s members donated a cow for the cattle auction in memory of their son, Owen Oliveira. This was a very special year for them and the participants as the community really came together to raise the money for this meaningful donation.
We are so grateful to the Festa de Agricultores, all who supported this wonderful event, and the thousands of people who make a difference for Valley Children’s patients each year.

We want to give an “all-star” thank you to students, teachers, and parents at John Adams Elementary School for their very kind donation of $500, which was raised during their “Kernels for Kindness” fundraiser during Kindness Week. The school sold bags of popcorn, and the money donated will be used to support patients’ greatest needs at Valley Children's.
Adams Elementary School students work hard, use creativity, and demonstrate resilience. Their school spirit and generosity to raise funds in support of our patients make each student a true All-Star.

Valley Children’s established the Childhood Cancer Survivorship Program in 2009 to help survivors of pediatric cancer to thrive post-treatment. The program provides patients with personalized therapy summaries, a tailored risk assessment, screenings, and an annual follow-up care plan. The program has been led since its inception by Dr. John V. Gates, who is a survivor of pediatric cancer himself. The program promotes healthy lifestyles for former cancer patients as they enter adulthood and to advance research efforts to discover the most effective treatments for cancer with the least amount of late effects on survivors.
As the program continues to expand its services to help survivors thrive in their later years, 2022 marks the inaugural year of the Childhood Cancer Survivorship Scholarship Program. Thirteen cancer survivors have been selected to receive $1,000 scholarships, generously funded by donors. The Childhood Cancer Survivorship Program’s staff is excited to make this scholarship available annually for survivors with support from our generous community. Please join us in congratulating the following scholarship awardees, who will receive their scholarships this summer at a ceremony on the South Lawn at Valley Children’s Hospital:
