Job Description

The Financial Analyst performs Financial Management and Program Control functions associated with contracts managed by Program Finance Department 626.

These responsibilities include:
  • Performance measurement and variance analysis
  • Communicate with Cost Account Managers
  • Create and update Daily, Weekly, Monthly reports
  • Estimate at Complete development
  • Budget development and maintenance
  • Preparation of cost reports to support both internal and external customers
  • Input to Finance Systems for Indicated Profit, Sales Orders and Backlog
  • Manpower Plan and Operating Plan development
  • Shop order control
  • Monitoring subcontractor contracts including requisition review and approval
  • Preparation of billing instructions for submittal to Cash Management
Education/ Experience
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Admin. or equivalent
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, specifically pivot tables
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Prior Electric Boat internship or co-op experience
  • Experience in government contract cost control
  • Experience with Earned Value Management
Skills
  • This person must be interested in and capable of analyzing data with minimum supervision.
  • Applicant must have good writing and speaking skills in order to communicate effectively with all levels of management.
  • Applicant should possess a considerable amount of initiative and organizational skills.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft PowerPoint is also preferable.
  • Knowledge of EB Systems (WAF/DLB,Accounting, Planning, Mainframe MRP, Purchasing and Inventory) is a plus.
  • Previous experience working with large data sets is also a plus.
