Budget Update
All,

Our budget and finance team continues to meet with groups and individuals throughout the campus to provide guidance and information about both the FY2021 budget development process and ISU’s financial picture. To date, we have held and hosted 138 meetings, forums, and sessions with more than 700 participants across all ISU locations. We will continue to meet with units, departments, divisions, and individuals throughout the coming months.

At last week’s Campus Open Budget Forum, we kicked off a series of informational presentations that are designed to develop a common base of knowledge and understanding of ISU finances. I believe a well informed campus community is better positioned to generate creative and innovative solutions to budget challenges and opportunities. The first installment presents an overview of ISU’s revenue sources, drivers, and trends. In the coming weeks we will be presenting more segments designed to increase campus awareness of the financial aspects of the university. These series are posted on the budget website, and I encourage you to take ten minutes to view them and share your questions and feedback.

Please take note of the following upcoming deadlines for FY2021 budget development.

February 7, 2020
Facilities and IT project requests due

February 28, 2020
Unit budget development plans and narratives due

We are continuing to solicit both budget savings ideas and g eneral questions and feedback through the budget website.
