Christ Is Our Cornerstone
In Our Prayers: We are praying for our St. Peter alumni. Next week we will be praying for the St. Peter Lutheran School Class of 2009: Katlyn Anaman, Ryan Bauer, Matthew Benkert, Paige Breternitz, Nicole Chapin, Christopher Deneen, Brandon Geitman, Garrett Hingston, Jordan Hingston, Kenny Hughes, Cody Konop, Miranda Lange, Rebecca Mrozinski, Jonathan Neuenfeldt, Jodi Otto, Erin Papst, Nicholas Roggow, Anna Smith and Hannah Wardin.

Devotion of the Week: Each month during the school year, our students learn a different hymn (Hymn of the Month). We have a three year cycle of hymns for students to learn, and then they repeat. Our March hymn happens to be LSB 611 Chief of Sinner Though I Be. The hymns that our students learn are firmly grounded in God's Word, and this hymn references Romans 5:8-11 and here are the words from verse 8, "but God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us." We are saved from sin, death, and the devil because of what Jesus, our Cornerstone, has done for us. The words in verse one of this hymn do a wonderful job of focusing on the fact that we are saved because of God's grace in sending us a Savior:
Chief of sinners though I be, Jesus shed His blood for me,
Died that I might live on high, Lives that I might never die.
As the branch is to the vine, I am His, and He is mine.

We pray that the Bible verses and hymn verses that our students learn may bring them comfort, peace and joy throughout their lives!
Lutheran Heritage Foundation: Did you know that there are over 5 million Lutherans in Indonesia? They need good books about Jesus, too! The Bible storybooks and catechisms we send to Indonesia will also be used in Lutheran Sunday schools. Thank you for encouraging your child to bring weekly offerings to support this wonderful ministry.

Reminder: The LHF collection baggies may be returned at any time. Students may give these to their teachers. At the end of March, we will send all monetary donations to LHF. Thank you for your support.

Lenten Worship: Our weekly Lenten services are on Thursdays at 6:30pm and these services are different from our Sunday services. Next week's Lenten theme is Return From Betrayal.
Lenten Bible Study: You're invited to join your fellow brothers and sisters in Christ at St. Peter as we journey through Lent via hymns and explore Visual Faith™ activities. We will meet weekly from 8pm-9pm on Wednesday evenings from 2/24- 3/31 on a ZOOM video call group. Come as often as you can and stay as long as you'd like. Contact Emily Abraham (404-713-7206 or emilyabraham730@gmail.com) for more details.

Athletics
Girls Basketball Highlights: On Monday, the girls hosted Holy Cross and what a game it was! The final score at the end of regulation was 16-16 so it had to be decided in overtime. Keirstyn Curnutt made the only basket either team had giving the Panthers the 18-16 victory. Isabella Curry and Keirstyn led the team with 7 points each, and Kendelle Klemish added 4 points. On Thursday, the girls kept the excitement alive by having another close home game but this time against Faith. The Panthers were down 0-3 to start the game, but overcame that small deficit and led the rest of the way capping off a 29-25 victory. Isabella led all scorers with 9 points and some nice assists. Other scorers were Keirstyn (8), Kendelle (4), Lydia Faubert (4), Adelia Breternitz (2), and Josie Wolgast (2). It was another great team win! The girls continue their season this Wednesday with a home game at 4:30 followed by the B-Boys first game of 2021. Go Panthers!
