REV-Up Program for Manufacturers
This program will provide both wage subsidies and the design and support of a customized training plan, by employee.

This program is time sensitive –the program is only available through 12/30/20


·    Wage subsidy up to $20/hour for new or returned COVID impacted manufacturing experienced employees

·    Time worked could be from date of hire – 12/30/2020, with consideration for retroactive subsidy for those hired on or after 9/1/2020

·    Customized training including online, hands on and on the job trainings with mentor, our Technical Training Coordinator

·    Additional supports such as childcare and transportation or laptop/equipment support for qualified employees


SBA Economic Injury Disaster Loans Available in Connecticut  

The U.S. Small Business Administration announced that Economic Injury Disaster Loans are available to small businesses, small agricultural cooperatives, small businesses engaged in aquaculture and private nonprofit organizations located in Hartford, Litchfield, Middlesex, New Haven, New London, Tolland and Windham counties in Connecticut as a result of drought beginning on Sept. 15, 2020.
COVID 19 Utility Payment Plan

Utilities may disconnect businesses with past-due energy bills, any businesses in this situation should contact United Illuminating (UI) and/or Southern Connecticut Gas (SCG) by November 1 to enroll in the state’s interest-free COVID-19 Payment Plan Program. Please have an authorized person on the account, with tax id and account number of the business if possible call UI at (800) 722-5584 or SCG at (800) 659-8299.

Business Assistance Grant
We are pleased to announce small business grants through the Community Development Block Grant – CARES (CDBG-CV) – The Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act of 2020 (CARES Act). The City of Milford’s Department of Economic and Community Development will accept applications and administer the grant.

The program, funded through the U.S Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), was created under the federal CARES Act in a response to the economic impact that the COVID-19 pandemic has had on the nation. 

Eligible businesses may qualify for a grant up to $5,000.
