Drexel Libraries 'ScholarSip' Event on YouTube
Professor Usama Bilal, Assistant Professor in the Dornsife School of Public Health and the Urban Health Collaborative, presented a talk on "Responding to COVID-19 through Research and Scientific Problem-Solving" as part of Drexel Libraries' ScholarSip series earlier this week. The talk presented a “food for thought” discussion on how COVID-19 has amplified societal inequities. The video is now available for replay on the Libraries YouTube page.
Congratulations
Maureen Tang, associate professor of chemical and biological engineering, was named to the 2020 Class of Influential Researchers by Industrial & Engineering Chemistry Research, a publication of the American Chemical Society. The publication identified the class of influential, early career researchers (those with 10 or so years in their independent research career) on the basis of the quality and impact of their research.
In the News
A collaboration between CBE’s Maureen Tang, MEM’s Antonios Kontsos and the Academy of Natural Sciences to teach computers to recognize spotted lanterfly eggs was featured in the Philadelphia Inquirer.
In an interview with CNET, MEM’s Ajmal Yousuff explained how satellites are kept on their orbital path using propulsion to keep access to space predictable.
