Roslyn Public Schools
SUPERINTENDENT OF SCHOOLS
October 28, 2020

Dear Roslyn Families,

The Roslyn School District was informed that a student at Roslyn High School has tested positive for COVID-19. Due to the fact that this person has not been in school since Friday, October 23, 2020, the Nassau County Department of Health has determined that no additional action by the school district is required.

We have completed our internal contact tracing. At this time, all individuals who have been identified as a close contact have been notified. We are now working collaboratively with the Nassau County Health Department to help them complete their external contact tracing investigation.

According to the guidelines from the New York State Department of Health (NYSDOH) and the Nassau County Health Department, the individual who tested positive for COVID-19 will not be allowed to return to school for ten days. In addition, all close contacts identified will be required to quarantine as per the guidelines from the NYSDOH and the Nassau County Health Department.

We will continue to take all necessary precautions to ensure the health and safety of our school community, including our daily deep cleaning procedures. As always, the well-being of all students and staff is our foremost priority.

With COVID-19 cases on the rise, please continue to follow local health guidelines to keep yourself, your families, and our community healthy and safe.

Be well.

Sincerely,

Allison Brown
Superintendent of Schools
