Congratulations
Sterling Living Center

1420 South Third Ave. .... ...... (970) 522-2933
.Sterling Living Center is being honored as the Logan County Chamber of Commerce's Business of the Week. Accepting the honor were Jamie Wurtz- Unit Manager, Mary Snyder- Administrator and Benita Wilson-Director of Nursing.

....The facility now known as Sterling Living Center actually was established as a nursing facility back in the early 1960s, as Rose Arbor.
.....SAVA Senior Care came in to manage the facility in 1990’s and the name was changed to Sterling Living Center. This business was started to provide long term care to elderly and frail elderly who were unable to take care of themselves at home any longer and for those whom home health care was not appropriate or available.
.....Sterling Living Center is owned by a partnership called Sterling Operating Company LLC. The owners also have interest in Yuma Life Care Center and Sunset Manor in Brush. Currently it is managed by SAVA Senior Care.
.....Sterling Living Center has evolved into a long term care facility plus a rehabilitation center that draws people from Greeley, Haxtun, Holyoke, Ft Morgan and even as far away as Loveland and Scottsbluff, Neb.
.....Additionally, with the resources it has available, Sterling Living Center is also a highly desired facility because of the ability to transport residents to and from dialysis appointments, which other facilities in Sterling do not provide at this time. The facility accepts Medicare, Medicaid and Private Pay and Commercial Insurances payer sources.
.....Sterling Living Center specializes in compassionate care and assisting in rebuilding independence for the senior population in the most efficient way to bring your loved ones home sooner, and then complete their recovery at home, with family and in the environment they are most familiar with.
..... For more information call (970) 522-2933.

COVID UPDATES COLORADO
Economic Forecast
The Governor’s Office of State Planning and Budgeting (OSPB) released its quarterly economic forecast that despite improvement over the Fall, Colorado’s economic activity remains below pre-COVID levels. The outlook for the winter months has weakened as higher COVID caseloads have resulted in more public health restrictions on businesses, while winter weather limits outdoor dining. Though weekly initial unemployment claims remain far below the levels of March and April, they have more than tripled since September and are expected to remain elevated through the winter months. Despite this, the outlook for 2021 has improved due to high savings and wealth and the distribution of the vaccine.

Vaccine Contains Extra Dose
Sharing the news that the Pfizer vaccine vial, which was only labeled to contain five doses, actually
yields a sixth dose when administered with precision, the Gov. Polis stressed that this extra dose
is an incredible, life-saving opportunity to increase our supply of the vaccine in Colorado by 20%.

Safer Winter Holidays
It’s important to think about the best ways to keep loved ones and communities safe during holiday celebrations. This year is an opportunity to reimagine what togetherness can look like. To help slow the alarming spread of COVID-19, the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE) advises Coloradans to only interact in-person with people from their household this holiday season.

Governor Applauds Relief
Governor Jared Polis applauded bipartisan Congressional action to provide COVID-19 relief: “Colorado’s hardworking people and small businesses need relief and we are glad Congress is finally considering at least some help. Additional federal direct cash payments of $600 per person and extended unemploy-ment benefits for over 16,000 Coloradans impacted by this pandemic are a welcomed resource,” said Governor Polis. “Ultimately, this package is an important down payment from the federal government for what is needed to help get the nation successfully through the health crisis from the deadly virus and the global recession.” ..................... ........................... ................ 'Five-Star Program'
CDPHE is sharing a checklist with counties of steps they can take if they are interested in setting up a business variance program known as the “5 star program.” Further details finalizing the parameters of the program, who is eligible, and what requirements businesses will have to follow will be released later this week, but this information will give interested cities or counties tools to begin their planning process. ...................................................................................................................Planning Process Can Begin
