.Sterling Living Center is being honored as the Logan County Chamber of Commerce's Business of the Week. Accepting the honor were Jamie Wurtz- Unit Manager, Mary Snyder- Administrator and Benita Wilson-Director of Nursing.
....The facility now known as Sterling Living Center actually was established as a nursing facility back in the early 1960s, as Rose Arbor.
.....SAVA Senior Care came in to manage the facility in 1990’s and the name was changed to Sterling Living Center. This business was started to provide long term care to elderly and frail elderly who were unable to take care of themselves at home any longer and for those whom home health care was not appropriate or available.
.....Sterling Living Center is owned by a partnership called Sterling Operating Company LLC. The owners also have interest in Yuma Life Care Center and Sunset Manor in Brush. Currently it is managed by SAVA Senior Care.
.....Sterling Living Center has evolved into a long term care facility plus a rehabilitation center that draws people from Greeley, Haxtun, Holyoke, Ft Morgan and even as far away as Loveland and Scottsbluff, Neb.
.....Additionally, with the resources it has available, Sterling Living Center is also a highly desired facility because of the ability to transport residents to and from dialysis appointments, which other facilities in Sterling do not provide at this time. The facility accepts Medicare, Medicaid and Private Pay and Commercial Insurances payer sources.
.....Sterling Living Center specializes in compassionate care and assisting in rebuilding independence for the senior population in the most efficient way to bring your loved ones home sooner, and then complete their recovery at home, with family and in the environment they are most familiar with.

Economic Forecast
The Governor’s Office of State Planning and Budgeting (OSPB) released its quarterly economic forecast that despite improvement over the Fall, Colorado’s economic activity remains below pre-COVID levels. The outlook for the winter months has weakened as higher COVID caseloads have resulted in more public health restrictions on businesses, while winter weather limits outdoor dining. Though weekly initial unemployment claims remain far below the levels of March and April, they have more than tripled since September and are expected to remain elevated through the winter months. Despite this, the outlook for 2021 has improved due to high savings and wealth and the distribution of the vaccine.

Governor Applauds Relief
Governor Jared Polis applauded bipartisan Congressional action to provide COVID-19 relief: “Colorado’s hardworking people and small businesses need relief and we are glad Congress is finally considering at least some help. Colorado Minimum Wage
Increases On Jan. 1, 2021
Effective Jan1, 2021, the minimum wage in Colorado will increase from $12.00 to $12.32 per hour. Tipped Employee Minimum Wage will increase from $8.98 to $9.30 per hour. If you have questions about this change, please contact the Colorado Division of Labor Standards and Statistics at 1-888-390-7936. Also as 2020 draws to a close, remember that businesses are required to update their labor laws posters. While there are many sites where laminated versions can be purchased, posters can be accessed and printed free of charge.
